    Nikon D3s - It's Official

Thank you for the clearing of air dudes. Civility is a fast disappearing luxury especially online. I salute your reply Mr BB Slim and take back my disparaging remarks on your maturity. Master Isisaxon, I didn't get to read your reply to my post, but I have always enjoyed your many...

    Nikon D3s - It's Official

Mr BB Slim, Your replies and tone are both rude and distinctly immature. It is sad that your lack of manners should pollute this thread. Of course I expect you to ask me to 'shut my gap' now. I would expect nothing less from an individual with your level of maturity. DFM

    Nikon D3s - It's Official

Looking at the D3S, it is clear to me that Nikon's path suits me personally. I am not a pro, far from it, but what I have been hankering for as an amateur who shoots mainly family, bugs, birds and animals, is better high ISO performance as shooting flash at longer ranges just doesn't work for...

    Travelling considerations

I have faced these travel questions myself when I go to Singapore (or further) on work or on holiday... I reckon the other important consideration is a decent camera bag that you can comfortably tote your gear in and not be too conspicuous.... I shoot the D90 usually with the 70-300 and I...

    Tokina 12-24mm VS 11 - 16mm

I'm afraid that this statement is not correct, the 11-16 is designed to be used on APS-C or DX sized sensor cameras only. As I posted in the other thread on a wide angle lens for the D700, this is from the Tokina website specs for the 11-16; "* The lens is designed for Digital cameras with...

wide angle lens for D700 help !!!!

Just a quick point to note, the Tokina 11-16 is not meant to be used on Full Frame cameras like the D700. If I may quote from the 11-16 literature; "* The lens is designed for Digital cameras with APS-C sized CMOS and CCD sensors, not designed for cameras with Full Frame sensors." So might...

    PMA... Nikon announcement...

I was disappointed but not suprised by the lack of new lenses announced for Nikon at PMA. Only the new 35mm DX sized G lens was there. I was really hoping for at least an indication that the 70-200VR would be updated to VRII and have its current issues on full frame cameras addressed. I guess...

    Nikon AFS 300mm f4....

I am also contemplating the 300mm f4, using a D90 with the crop factor to get 450mm equivalent and possibly adding a Nikon 1.4TC later if I find I need the length still. The bird pics in this post have been a great encouragement on the quality possible from this lens...very inspiring indeed...

Sharing a Few Butterflies Part VI

I have a few more pics of the whole insect which are uncropped. I'll dig them out of my other hard drive later and post them. I have no idea, but isn't it possible that there are quite a few species common within SE Asia?. Thanks for replying. Regards, Saimee
