    Olympus E-M1X vs Panasonic S1

I would rather go with the S1 because the future of the mount is more certain, but I would wait until the second generation arrives. At the moment, Nikon Z6 is also one I would consider because the lens mount is so different that it will be better into the future than the others. The E-M1x...

Date time not stored in EM5

It's only a guess, but as with computers, it may use a small battery, inaccessible to users, that keeps various setting information stored. You'll probably have to have the service center check it.

    Newcomers to 4/3

"Use the right tool for the right job." is an old saying that has great meaning for photography, especially with various digital imaging sensors. It also worked for different sizes of film. It seems to me that people should figure out what they want to do with a camera before purchasing one...

    Panasonic DMC-GH5

When Adorama, New York City, has them in stock, it will be the first sign that pre-orders have been completed at many stores in the U.S.A. They usually have products earlier than most stores. I remember trying to get a GH4 in June 2014 near New York City and the salesperson said that they were...

    Panasonic GM1 or GF7?

Certainly that's a better choice than the GF7 since it's new.

    Mitakon 25mm /0.95 - Any good?

If you're looking for a lens that can be used without much thought, in all circumstances, the Olympus lens would be best. If you want a lens that can be useful in more extreme circumstances but one that needs a lot of attention, and you're comfortable with Manual mode, the Mitakon lens will...

    Panasonic GM1 or GF7?

The GM5 with the 12-32mm f/3.5-5.6, 42.5mm f/1.7 is a good combination. The 15mm f/1.7 is great with it, but it cost me more than my new GM5 kit, even with the instant rebate. If you deal with sunny circumstances, you'll want that viewfinder.

    Mitakon 25mm /0.95 - Any good?

I'm not complaining. It has given me a chance to do more interesting/weird photos than I would normally have done. It reminds me of when ASA 1600 color film became available. It wasn't very useful but it could give some dramatic effect to scenes you would not normally photograph. 25mm on...

    Mitakon 25mm /0.95 - Any good?

The whole thing is amusing. It's a tiny Leica M-like lens, fitting with a micro Four-Thirds mount, and way too heavy for the GM5. It's also incredibly inexpensive for the maximum aperture it offers. I expected distortion but it is fairly good. Optically, it seems sharp but there are extra...

    very quiet here.....

Perhaps, everyone is out shooting? Instagram seems to be busier than ever. The rumors sites have been getting a lot of visitors, good and bad. It seems so much of the news is going to Pentax and Nikon lately. Not much room for others.

    Mitakon 25mm /0.95 - Any good?

Mine is okay, although it seems to have a problem focusing to infinity. Maybe that is a new user error. Lens Flare is wild. It is tiny but heavy. It looks as though it would work well with the Panasonic GM1 and GM5 but it seems twice as heavy as the body. I've found it useful on the GX8...

    Panasonic New Update Lenses coming!!

The older 35-100mm f/2.8 is US$200 more expensive than the revised lens. Hopefully, they've corrected the OIS problems.

    Panasonic DMC-GH5

The E-M1 Mk II was weighed without the battery and the GH5 was weighed with the battery.

    Panasonic DMC-GH5

The GH5 looks better than the GH4, but I am underwhelmed by the Venus imaging processor details and lack of PDAF. It feels as though the GH5 will be just as likely to lose focus while recording video and that the AF for stills might still focus on a wall behind a person instead of the person.
