Cathay selling G10 for 815 SGD. I see B&H in New York selling for 412USD, which translates to 618 SGD, basically 25% cheaper. Does anyone know of better pricing in Singapore for this camera?
I use the 28-300 with my 1DMkIII to shoot football matches. I think it performs brilliantly for this use. When I shoot indoor sports such as volleyball, I use the 20-200 2.8 IS to pick up more light.
The 28-300 is a heavy monster, especially when paired with a 1 series camera. However, I...
I just bought a 1 D Mk III and I can tell you that the vertical grip on/off switch definitely should click when turned. It sounds like the one you looked at had a faulty switch. It's amazing that camera store clerks try to tell you that it is supposed to be that way when they have no idea as...
Setting to 3m-inf will have faster focusing speed as long as you are more than 3 meters from your subject. If subject is closer, use 1.2m-inf. It's just a distance switch that avoids the lens trying to focus close up if you already know your subject is far away.
As has been said before, it depends what you're shooting. I recently was in France for 2 weeks, and found that I used my 16-35 90% of the time on my 1.6 crop 20D. I also have the 24-70, by the way.
I use a 24-70 on a 20D without a grip, and it feels well balanced. I imagine it is even more so on your 350 with a grip - but others can comment better on that.
Of all of the speculation out there on what is coming out, a replacement for the 24-70 is just not one of them. Many people...
Quite a bit of information has been posted about them on other photo sites. They and the others mentioned by the above poster are ripoffs. They hard sell you to add on expensive options, then wind up overcharging your card and/or sending you the wrong stuff. Pure fraud.:nono:
I considered the Fuji F11 for my daughter. I'm sure it's a great camera, but it is pretty large and heavy for a carry around. I wound up going with the Ixus 55, and it is great.
