I'm thinking of the Zeiss ZF 50mm f/1.4 which i haven't personally tested out yet to replace my 50 f/1.2.

lol.. there is a 50 makro on sale at a good price but already reserved.

Just got the 100 f2 macro.. My 1st manual lens.. Whenever I try switching aperture quickly from f22 to f5.6, the blades seem "stuck" and open slowly. Is that normal?

Cannot be, yours is the lastest Z* lens? Are the blades oily?

Send it back and have it checked out while it's still under warranty. If the blades don't close rapidly enough, it'll result in over-exposed pictures, especially when shooting with high shutter speeds. What body are you shooting with? Shoot at say 5.6 and ISO above 1600 and see if there's over-exposure? Sometimes, these 'mechanical' manual lenses may need a little 'running in', but I'd rather send it in for a check.

Limitation, your viewfinder becomes dark when you try to focus stopped down cause of the non auto-diaphragm feature on the EOS body.
