Just wanted to share some shots I took yesterday with my 50mm Makro-planar. Initially wanted to sell it and get the 100 makro, but i think i'll keep this, much more versatile i realise!

can someone tell me whats the diff between CZ ZF 28/F2.0 and CZ 28/F2.8 ZM?
Whats the ZF and ZM Diff?
And I also see all sort of name like Biogon ,Sonnar , Jena.....whats all that mean?
The family line?
And how do we diff one from another?

ZF = F mount.. ZM = M mount...

ZF and ZM are made by cosina... japanese company...

tessar... distagon... sonnar etc.. are zeiss lens designs...
jena etc... refers to the factory/country it came from.. ie. jena = somewhere around russia etc...

Thanks, this is a big caterpillar....so using the 1.5x crop factor of D300 is enough to fill the frame.

I tried using ZF 25 to take picture of my baby crawling.
Dude, I find it extremely difficult to MF.
Any one here got good tactic I can use to enable me to take the picture faster with the MF?
By the time I look at the "green" dote, he already out of focus again.

practise makes perfect, green dot not accurate

shoot continously as you focus, maybe 3fps for critical moment. not too many fps

I have taken picture with the following setting on both lens.
D700, M Mode F4 with tripod. Speed 1/2.5 ISO200. Both MF. Both @ 25

Tamron 17-35 f2.8-4 with the above setting:

CZ 25/2.8 with the above setting:

Whats your view on the performance for Both Lens?
Did I did anything wrong when comparing this two lens?

I hear the ZF Distagon 18mm/f3.5 are in. Anyone had a chance to try them out on a Nikon FX body? Any comments? Price? Image quality? Handling?

if you can afford it, take the 50 f2. the 50 f1.4 has a greenish fringing to the out of focus spots which can be quite "hard" sometimes.

sigma 50mm f1.4 is better for the same price range

Is there a need to enter the lens information under Non-CPU lens?
What does it do after that? I could still shoot by adjusting the aperture ring manually and the D700 still could meter the exposure by adjusting shutter and auto iso...

yes, need to enter the lens info. After that everything as per normal, using the aperture ring manually.

Did you twit the colours?
I went to hort park and coincidently chance upon same type of flowers but my petal is white instead of yours so Blueish.
