Just found out tat used 100f2 selling 1.7k...

haha, i have no experience with Leica, hence, no comments on that.

Some of Voigtlander's lenses perform very similarly to Leica lenses; for example the 75/2.5 Heliar (vs. Leica Apo-Summicron-M 75/4) and the Voigtlander 90/3.5 Lanthar (vs. Leica Elmarit-M 90/2.8).

Of course, Leica lenses will win in some areas, but in overall image renditioning, they are almost on-par.

A case of modern optical design trumping old Leicas ? I think its a good thing when CVs and Zeiss are mentioned in the same sentence as Leicas. Clearly, quality is tops.

Think CVs and Zeiss hv gentlemen agreement not to compete directly headon in Nikon AIS mount. ZF 501.4 versus CV 581.4. So CV Ultron 40f2, ZF Tessar 45f2?

Speculating Nikon will introduce a 50mm AFS f1.0 cos 1) beat canon 2) they hv done it before 3) after rre-amping up camera line, they will target the lenses. Canon did the same in 1990s.

What do u guys think about the lens that take this pic?

Not sharp. (or at least her eyes aren't sharp...)
Some pinkish hues...
short telephoto? 80-135

doesn't have the 'snap'...

but the softness quite nice... (but then again the model is very sweet)

I would use this lens to flatter...

I see.... good for portrait huh?

Well, I properly had missed the focus a little.....

your camera shake is adding "extra" bokeh to the shot :) make the job harder

guess pre-asph leica.

Did u detect camera shake? Handheld but I doubt there's any shake....

funny thing is though you shot at 1/80 her hair still has movement. not sure if it is wind or the character of the lens...

hmmm... the rollei planar might be able to do this...

I would go with a f1.4 lens, likely 85mm, shot between 1.4 and 2. possibly old contax 851.4 or leica 80mm 1.4 cos known to hv "dreamy" quality wide open, hence the glow.

A few more shots taken with the lens. I like the way the lens draws:

And keep your guessing coming in.... :)
