CZ 85mm F1.4 + 5D - decided not to wait further for the 5DmkII, as the 5D has years of proven track record :p

Here is one

I'm not advertising for diglloyd.

But after shooting 9months with the 35 F2 Distagon, my eyes "opened" up again after I purchased that report. There are numerous pics inside which shows wat can be achieved with ZF. The report file is almost 1GB.

Also, it talks of curvature of field and how to get that "snap".

Bought the report on your recommendation.
OK read and comparison with various lenses. IMO, the cost is a little overpriced.
Will be a better value for those less informed.

guess you had to buy the nikon-canon adapter? did it retain the infinity focus?

Anyone keen on a ZF lens outing?
Will be wonder if the full range of zeiss lens is available. Can swap lenses and try out all the lenses.... ;p

Noooo later kana poison by the 2 macro CF lens... haha

yes. better value for non-pros. I like the part on ZF lenses with focus shift and how to get 100% sharpness.

the old way of focusing - aim centre point at object, check electronic focus confirmation, shift and recompose does not give 100% sharpness for ZF lenses with uneven field of curvature. Cos when we shift off-centre, the object goes slightly out of focus.

obvious at F1.4 - F2 and close distance e.g head shots.

oic, then how should we do it...

or stand in front of a wall, shoot wide open at f2. centre portion sharp, outer area goes out of focus slightly. uneven field of curvature for some ZFs.

this can be a plus for shooting people. imagine surrounding area goes out of focus without stopping down ( extra added bokeh ). not so good for architecture. but since landscape / architecture shots are done at 5.6, this problem goes away.

not so obvious with 1.5x crop bodies cos sensor not big enough to capture.

perhaps this is their cost/performance compromise for making ZFs affordable. Think modern Leicas don't have this problem. They are smack-sharp from F1.4 across entire film plane. Cost 3-4times more though.

Ah.... the beauty of using a manual focus lenses. I am a 'tan chiak' photographer and ZF lenses has better value for me than AF lenses. Reason is simple. When my wedding clients compare their images with their friends' or colleagues', mine usually stand out more and receive more 'woos and ahhs'.

My secret weapon - Fuji S5 Pro camera and ZF lenses .

CoolSig: I love the picture that I capture with ZF 50/1.4 very nice!! :)

I heard a rumor saying that the price tag for ZF 18/3.5 is around Euro 1400, is it true? darnnnn is so expensivee >_<
i need to start saving my money hiks....
BTW, here is another shot :p
