can i check where did u get your Zeiss Distagon T* 2/28 ZF? And what is the price?
Got it specially ordered from Japan.
Had to wait patiently for 3+ weeks for the item to arrive as it's apparently still quite hard to source.
how much is it including shipping? I can't find it in SG.
You're looking at $1500-1600 thereabouts.
I was quite exasperated as well cos everywhere doesn't seem to stock the ZF lenses.
Even the popular 50mm/1,4 & 85m/1,4 are not regularly in stock.
The question at the back of my head is whether the local shops or local agent is not eager to push this niche market?

Here a quick and dirty sample that i took this afternoon with Zeiss 50mm F2 macro
BTW, i paid Rp. 9,250,000 for this lens... In USD it would be around $1000

I'm not good in reviewing a lens, but base on my daily use of this lens. The images that i got from it were amazing... It's really different from my Nikon lens.
Zeiss give me more 3D looks.
Bokeh and Color are amazing.
As for Sharpness, I think it's really sharp, even at wide open is sharp!
here another example that i took this morning with D300
@F2.8
SO far, i dont have any complaint for all my zeiss lens.
I'm still waiting for my Zeiss 35mm and Zeiss 100mm Macro.
Hopefully I will receive them by next week

i had just browsing the internet and found out today that carl zeiss held a photo contest from 21 dec 2007 to 7 Jan 2008 (http://www.photographyblog.com/index.php/weblog/comments/carl_zeiss_photo_contest/)
i wonder if anyone here had the info, participate in the contest or know where to see the winner?

anyway, is the winner announced and published yet?
i looked on their website but couldn't find the page to see the contestants entry nor the winners
Only Zeiss, and Carl Zeiss Jena .............
The participants were already informed by Zeiss via email of the competition results. Zeiss should publish the winning entries later of the year.
