That's not a flat.. It's a train passing by.. Look carefully at the uncropped pic.. ;)

The best of the lot is the CZJ 80 F1.8, I only can find them in ebay at us$350.00 a piece :o

I think they are talking about Carl Zeiss Ikon ..... not Carl Zeiss Jena ;P

The CZ 50mm f1.7 goes for less than US$80 on Ebay!
It is rated 0.1 point better than the CZ 50mm f1.4 by www.photodo.com

Thanks, so I don't understand why someone mention "full frame"?

All shots are taken with a full frame camera.

Just received my CZ 28mm lens today. However, the DSLRx Zeiss-to-EOS adapter has not arrived yet.
Nevertheless, placed the CZ 28mm on my 20D and took a few pixs.

My god! The CZ is amazing!!! Can't wait to mount in properly on my Canon when the DSLRx adapter arrives!!!

Full frame on a 20D with CZ Distagon 28mm.

Full size crop of the above image.

20D is not a full frame camera, it is a APS-C framed camera ..... the title starts Zeiss on a 20D ...... so how to take a full frame shot when the camera is not full frame by nature?

Long story lah...
Started the thread before selling away my 20D.
Returned the original lens to the ebay seller.
Then I got new cam.
Then adapter arrives.
Just bought the CZ 28 from TCW.

Anyway can always use the lens on a film body wat!

hi, just out of curiosity, how do u manage to focus so accurately on your pix? or have u just posted the phones which are sharp? i have tried focusing manually on my 20d and it is a hit and miss. i'll be happy if i can get 50% hit. do share.

WAH WAH sharp!!!! if i got cash now sure get from you arh! but saving up for trip argh!!.... nvm this is my next target liao... :)

Hi

wow the pictures seems to have the same magic "glow" I'm used to seeing with my Leica lenses with film....

but before we get too excited, how did u post process the photos weekh? cos i know there's a method of post processing that can also simulate that "glow" the German lenses seem to be capable of :)

As mentioned eaqrlier, no post processing was required to enchance the color... Image was shot at WB 5500k. The colour looks great straight out from the file on my calibrated screen!

I do get some out of focus shots at f2.8.
But really, I don't find it so diffcult. If u stop down to f4 or f5.6, u should have pretty good margin. And if u zone focus, don't really have to care about focusing at all.

Those who are used to rangefinder system should find it familar... Zone focus and pre-set of exposure etc...
