Wah! Walking in the rain?
Coincidentally, my shot of the day is quite similar... :D

u r dam goooood!

Don't take it to seriously bro. I sort of don't like this pic. Why you shoot (or PS?) the subject with 3 legs? What's that blue patch on the top left hand corner of the pic? Why can't you shoot it with the subject cleared but the background blurred? Too many whys. Just take it that it comes from a newbie. No offence please. May be it's the weather that makes me grouchy! :embrass:

SS, post your similar pics as your photo a day so we can compare lah... ;p

Yeah...walking in the rain at Ghim Moh Market, with a makeshift "umbrella". Yeah, your shot has got motion blur too! :)

no worries bro. i shot the subject handheld at slow shutter speed (1/4s), so the pic came out with 3 legs. The 3rd leg was not PSed in. The blue patch at the top left corner of the pic is the corner of the blue tarpaulin sheet roof covering of the shop directly behind the man. I can't shoot it with the subject clearly in focus but the background blurred becos the subject is too close to the background. Everything would be in sharp focus, bg clutter and all. remember this is at Ghim Moh Market. so, used panning instead to blur the bg as much as possible. hope this answers ur questions! :)

Hey sure man. I didn't expect such detailed explanation bro. Thanks much for sharing, and keep posting. Can wait to see your next photo! :)

Hmm...motion blur shot...special one...:)
only try on vehicle...never try on people yet...maybe can try to catch one next time
but this one lose a bit when compare with previous few shot...hope u dun mind i'm being so blunt...;p

I like the idea.

Maybe the panning was too fast? If the background a bit less motion blurred, maybe the shot will convey more (eg show some of the rain etc).

Anyway, this is not a critique thread. I'd rather see story behind the photos. This shot does attempt to convey the "rush" to shelter IMHO.

Oh man! For a handheld shot, this is

actually i welcome blunt comments especially :)

i fully agree this one is definitely not as good a shot as the previous ones, it was in some way a bit of a lazy shot just to get the shot of the day out of the way. a lot more effort is required next time! ;p

i think the main problem with this shot is that it is pretty much a "grab" shot. i saw a guy walking towards the shelter with a makeshift brolly over his head, and quickly panned and shot him. no working of the subject at all. with the "crane" and "flower girl" shots, i took many more shots of the subject from different angles and selected the best shot for posting. that's what i like about PAD....it reveals my weaknesses as a photographer so i know what i need to work on to improve. :)

thx wiz....i don't normally carry around a tripod, so my shots are all pretty much handheld. :)

I understand, all of my shots so far are handheld too ... I'm simply lazy ;p

since it's raining now no wonder a lot of people make good use of it ( or because of no other possibility? ) keep it up zaren, i'm always looking forward your shoot.
