Yuanyang rice terraces: timelapse of mists, reflections, sunbursts, and seas of cloud

Inspiring stuff. I'd love to go shoot China one day. One question: So you timed your shots to between 2-3s interval right? Did you measure how much movement between each interval or just roughly gauge by hand?

Oh and, you would love this guy too: check him out!He did Singapore once. amazing:D

For the Singapore shots, how did he shoot the aerial view ?

Singapore Flyer and MBS Skypark...

Thanks but to do a timelapse, he did not setup his camera on a tripod on the exact location for a few hours.

How did he manage to put his camera so high up on the S'pore Flyer for so long ?

Depends on the interval length, number of shots, and number of frames per sec of the clip.

The Singapore Flyer takes about half an hour for one full revolution IIRC. So faster intervals are necessary. Eg, every 2s will give 30 shots a min and in 10 mins 300 shots using 30 frames per second will be 10s of footage.

This is a v v nice piece of work. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Okay good idea, the flyer will act like a motorised slider ... :)

Great idea !!

Thanks

Just have to act fast -- although one revolution is 30 mins, the "main" view facing the CBD is only a 10-minute window a few minutes in. Your tripod probably needs to be tall enough so that you can lean the camera close enough to the glass, and you also need some kind of big black object to cut out the reflections.

Can explain why the tripod need to be tall ? I thought the glass inside the capsule is full-height ?

Can explain how you use the black object to cut out reflection ?

Thanks
