your thoughts on the new 5d?

5D no eye activating sensor? hmm that sucks... thought all minolta will have that...

you can always off the LCD screen wat... look thru the viewfinder, the aperture & shutter is shown inside...

what he mentioned is correct. in the menu set to auto and when the eye sensor detects, the LCD goes off. set to manual, the eye sensor will be deactivated, LCD will light up when any button is pressed.

i think the person who tested abit blur... the test reversed... how to see the aperture test if he dun have a foreground background to see... no diff to me for all the pics lor...

den sharpness test should be the aperture test lor...

but from the photos, doesn't seem right leh. results couldn't be so bad.

5D has eye sensor. but only switch off the LCD light when your eye near the viewfinder. I don't know what's function for eye activating sensor in 7D.

he gong mah... he should just do a aperture test placing the pringles canister in the middle of the room with maybe some chairs at back... den do the fxx fxx fxx... den we see how the bokeh wat...

den the zoom test is u mount tripod, den place the pringles in the middle of the room or something, den u test at widest to narrowest...

Tried holding the 5D yesterday.. The body is too small!!! If attach a larger lens, my shutter hand and zooming/focusing hand VERY close. Moreover, feel like lens is ripping off mount due to sheer wt..

But light is good for travel...

IMHO..

Anyone can correct me if i'm wrong??

same here. I find the 5D too plasticky and the shutter sound too loud for my comfort.....
This cam is suitable for travel but for serious, hardcore photography, i think the the 7D would be a better bet. The weight of the lens and the 5D is an imbalance if you need to use heavy lens.

Maybe I'm just nitpicking.......what can one complain after all, the price is so damn attractive!

I hate the LARGE LCD and that stoopid switch with the palm icon at the bottom right hand side at the back.
What I hate about it most is the price they are asking for it.

hahaha, that's a good one. i almost kena the trap

same as des, i'm also a bit tempted. given the price & weight, it's a better candidate for travelling, especially for travelling with family (non-photographic trip)
