First lens is EF 24~70mm f2.8L

A happy owner of this lens. :)

My first L lens is the EF 24-105 f4 and then the EF 70-200 f2.8 IS. I am now aiming to buy the EF 16-35 f2.8 for wide angle shots ;)

Why not a 10-22? Less overlap, and you go wider too. Don't get L just for the sake of getting L.

EF 24-105 f/4L IS USM | EF 50 f/1.4 USM | EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM

You have all the lenses that i want...;)

Coz I wanna go full frame soon, the 10-22 will be of no use to me then as I'm planning to sell the 30D.

stil not have L -lens allready, but i want... huuuuu....hope i will be have it soon maybe 17-40L.. hehe...

First L which I only gotten recently is the 85 1.2 :bsmilie:
Don't think I'll get another L anymore ;p

Just want to get some guidance from fellow forummers here. I saw some post an advert that they have personally tested a few sets of the L lens before deciding on on sharpest set of L lens to choose from. Is there substantial variance in performance from one L lens to another ? Another way, is there substantial manufacturing variation in these L lens ?

Besides, I am assuming they are viewing the shots from the camera itself. Is it possible to even do test like this using the limited screen on the camera?

Ls are no different from the conventional ones except the elements and coatings are different to give better contrast. Manufacturing wise, only the top end ones are hand-assembled.

I don't have an "L" lens yet. But I have a "L" phone though...

My first L lenses were 24-70 f/2.8L and 70-200 f/2.8L IS.

Served me very well without problems!

After that, I seriously got convicted and I purchased a
17-40 f/4L for landscape shots and used the money saved
from not getting the 16-35 f/2.8L instead to partially fund
the 135 f/2L (which I sometimes use for macro shots with
the EF 25 extension tube).

My first try with L lens was 70-200L f4L IS and I love it immediately. Finally got it last year, after that I have no plan for getting any L lens yet... If I need to replace my Sigma 24-70 f2.8, maybe 24-70 f2.8L or mkII or 16-35 f2.8L

first L was the 17-40. got it after using the kit lens for 2 years+. then followed by 70-200 f2.8 after 4 years since i got my 20D

my first lens is 24-70mm 2.8, it serve very well for portraiture but not as good as the 70-200mm 2.8is, though the later is at it's best when pairing with full frame body.

My first L is the 70-200 f/2.8 IS.
My next L should be 85L. Hopefully, that will be the start of my L prime journey - 35L, 50L, 135L...
In between, I have the 17-40L & 24-105L

My first 24-70 f2.8L, a little soft at wide open, but overall a great lens.
135mm f2 L superb
200mm f2.8 L another great lens
300mm f4 L IS good for sport and birding.
Waiting to get a second hand 500mm f4.5 L.
Caught the " L" virus...

Finally got my first L lens. But still not in my hand yet. Just got it today from a very nice man who was generous enough to deliver it to my sister's place. Hope to start using it when I get it from my sister who is coming back to Brunei in June. Can't wait.

My next L lens will definitely be a 70-200mm f/4L IS USM.

my first was 100-400
then 24-70
then 70-200 f2.8 is
sold my 100-400
sold my 24-70
got 300 f2.8
got 50 f1.2
sold 70-200
got 135 f2

now thinking of either 200 f2 or 500 f4........
