i don't mind rafa...i think he's done a gd job at chelsea. of course if mourinho can deliver the EPL title along with the CL, that would be even better. :)

LFC season is over..we will finish 7th..with no cup final appearance..no trophy to show..no game in Europe next season..

Have we improved? League table show more points..more goals..but we were knocked out of cups competitions much much earlier so finishing 7th is not good enough..

Next season we will likely be with Brendan "pass the ball into opponent goal" Rodgers..we are linked with his former player again..as though Borini & Allen were not enough..

The more BR open his mouth the more foolish he appears..but ppl still hail him..donno for what? Has he achieved anything? Glory days are still far away..not with BR i believe..prove me wrong please..

It takes a strong charactor to overcome abuses from Chelsea fans..to bench JT..so far..RB has managed to get Chelsea to winning ways..if ppl say managing Chelsea is easy coz of Chelsea strength..they are clueless..RM lost the league with a strong ManC..JM looks like loosing LaLiga to Barca & out of CL too..if its easy to be manager, LFC should finish higher than Everton with BR coz LFC have stronger squad..

Liverpool closing in on Douglas, brazilian center bk!

not a bad start by BR. LFC are playing better football than last season imho, and if they continue to improve next season, then BR may well be a gd manager for the long term to rebuild LFC. have more faith in your club :)

I want Jose, but Jose does not want me  Bad Jose....

mux be realistic. wahahahahahahhahaaha

Yes, at the end of the day if we are boring but win games 1-0 like Man Utd perhaps it's all that matters...
But - I live for exciting football.
Granted that LFC has not displayed the consistency to deliver inspirational play over the course of the season, but the glimpses when they do (and those occurred even in games when we lost or drew ManC, ManUre etc) they stirred the LFC spirit within me.
True - passing the ball all the time without getting it into goal is wrong, but hoofing long balls and losing possession are greater evils in my opinion. At the very least we retain the ball - with it the team can create and attack. Without it simply means we are defending.
I support BR not because he has reaped us any trophies or glory - no he has certainly not, but he has reignited the passion in me for LFC's potentially entertaining football (ok not the Suarez biting genre) but snippets where Coutinho delivers a perfect through ball, Enrique drifts into the box to score, and moulding Downing and Henderson into more effective players.
One thing that I disagree with him is playing Suarez in the middle... Sturridge is a much better direct option in the middle (he can play the "Carroll" role with more pace, guile and trickery), I think it might be more effective for Coutinho and Suarez to wreck havoc switching flanks with each other.
As with fellow LFC bros and fans - I hope that BR proves more next season with a squad that has had this season to gel.
YNWA bros!

LFC Transfer Speculations

Tony Barrett on The Times - Liverpool have not received any inquiries from Barcelona but the potential exists for a deal to be put together. Reina is not looking to leave Liverpool but the lure of his former club could be difficult to resist.

Reina set for Liverpool exit this summer – Reports
By This Is Anfield on May 7, 2013

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina is set to leave Liverpool this summer and will sign a 2 year contract at Barcelona, according to reports.

Speaking on Sky Sports Spanish football show Revista De La Liga on Tuesday, journalist Guillem Balague said that Reina will sign a two-year deal with Barcelona this summer.

While BBC Sport journalist Ben Smith wrote via twitter that it was “no secret that LFC [are] quietly looking to off-load Reina”.

This follows a report from Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo on Sunday that claimed a £10m fee had been agreed with Liverpool.

Reina, 30, signed for Liverpool from Villareal 8 years ago and has made almost 400 appearances for the club.

Reina graduated from Barca’s famed La Masia academy before departing the Catalans in 2002 but has been heavily linked with a return since Victor Valdes signalled his intentions to leave Camp Nou this summer.

Earlier this year, his father Miguel told Spanish radio:

“I am absolutely convinced Pepe would be more than delighted to return to his Barcelona, where they made him into an upstanding man from the time he arrived at the age of 12 until he left.

“I say it publicly: I would be delighted to see Pepe back at Barca, of course I would. What father would not like to see his son at Barca? He has already been there but to return would be extraordinary. ‘Pepe has shown sufficient proof of the calibre of goalkeeper he is and right now – and sorry for the lack of modesty – he would be up to the task and the ideal keeper for FC Barcelona.”

Despite some questions over his form, Reina would still be seen as a huge loss by supporters. Another top class, experienced player leaving the club. And another huge character leaving in the same summer that the club loses Jamie Carragher.

The Guardian write on Wednesday that reports of a deal being agreed are “premature” and that “Brendan Rodgers keen to retain the 30-year-old who has adapted well to his playing style after a difficult start. Reina too has recently stated that he expects to be at Anfield next season.”

End of Rafa’s Legacy

Should Reina leave, and Martin Skrtel as expected, only Steven Gerrard would remain from the Liverpool team that beat Real Madrid 4-0 in 2009:

Reina, Arbeloa, Skrtel, Carragher, Aurelio, Alonso, Mascherano, Kuyt, Gerrard, Babel, Torres.
