Interesting tale in The Daily Mail, who report that Liverpool could be in for Daniel Sturridge, if Andy Carroll leaves Anfield.

Apparently Newcastle and West Ham remain interested in Carroll, but neither have reached the £20million asking price Liverpool have set for the striker. Newcastle have only offered £12million, while West Ham 'can only afford a loan', it says here.

Sturridge would cost something around the same amount, and it would certainly make a little more sense for their forward line, with the rather more mobile Sturridge able to play out wide or in the middle.

Liverpool are still trying to raise funds for the purchase of Clint Dempsey, with Jay Spearing apparently heading for Bolton, while they have apparently 'yet to find buyers' for Charlie Adam or Jordan Henderson.
