if one is in such a scenario, do whatever your heart moves you, including pretending to sleep. there is no model answer as mentioned.

probably I will ask the one on my left to stand up and give the seat to the pregnant lady, after that, ask the one on my right to do the same and offer the seat to the old man.

Lastly, smile and continue to sleep... :bsmilie:

i will let the pregnant lady sit first. but i will not ask someone else to do the same for the old man as if they really want to let him sit, they will do it automatically without asking!

old people need to exercise more, so let them stand!

if they will not do it automatically, i am agreeable to use social pressure on them by asking them openly, maybe to the extent of embarassing them too. so, watch out. you may bump into me soon.

Personally, I would have given up the seat to whoever is there first, be it the old uncle or the pregnant lady. Given the peak hours travel I used to do, I never do get a seat to give up anyway. I never could understand why people would not give up the public seats to others more needy than them.

BTW, how do you know the lady is pregnant? She may be fat, and could be quite upset and embarrassed if you give up your seat to her....;p

Now I drive, so do not have to make this kind of agonising decision.

There's no model answer to personality tests... Sorry, this is one of those toilet-bowl psychology I had the last time round... ;p

Makes me wonder... why are always so concerned abt getting the model/correct answer? :dunno:
Haha... this sort of questions make people think why people ask this sort of questions. :bsmilie:

Publish those photo of sleeping boys and girls on Clubsnap or ST! ;p

In the first place, if the old man is so weak, how did he get on the train?

A woman who is in her final stages of giving birth would know better than to go onto a train and risk injuring herself and her baby...

Just my 2¢...:)

U can't confine an ah pek 24/7 to his house right? He'll prolly still need to go and visit his friends who are staying in Tuas when he stays at Tampines.

Be awed, one of my friend's wife continued working even though she was in her final trimester term! Such is the awful reality of the harsh world, where 1 man's pay packet ain't enuff to support the whole family (unless he earns peanuts).

I will give my seat to whoever is nearer to me.. ;) I won't take chances with those ppl in the train, you know what I mean.. :bsmilie:

wonder if anyone has gotten in a train with a whole bunch to people eager to give up their seats. That would be the day and I can say I have seen it :bsmilie:

People will stand up if the lady and ah pek is a Ang Moh. I can assure you of that.

I am so ashame to say that we asian are the most pathetic lots. Where while they look down on their own race, they bow to the ang mohs.

There is no law that says that you have to give up your seat to needy people. It's more of a moral value, etcetc....

im juz stating in a humorous/sarcastic point of view....probably that may very well happen in future...LOL

I don't agree with this statement. Every race has its own good and bad side. Hurricane Katrina showed it to us and on the I-net, there's plenty of evidence just how pathetic each race is. I don't see singaporeans bowing down to caucasians.

I have never come across a situation where a pregnant lady was never given a seat (ang moh or not). But for elderly, it depends on the look I guess. Some of them can be sporting muscles 18 year olds dun even have. But in general, I see alot more courtesy being displayed by our younger citizens although recent reports have been focusing on the school environment being too lax or not effective. I guess that comes with liberalisation of ideas and exposure through more media formats.

From some of the repiles so far, it would seems that our SM's idea of a gracious society still has a long long way to go......tsk tsk
