Hi, i recently got an electro 35 GS from my friend. from what i read on the web, i think it has the pad of death problem. sometimes i could hear the thunk and most times not. Does anyone know where i can get it serviced? I dont have the tools nor the capability to do it myself. Help is appreciated.
Thank you.

You can DIY : Make sure you buy JIS (japan industrial standard) standard screw drivers and not normal philips type.Sunlight electronics 3rd. flr.Sim Lim Tower in Sg. stock them brand is Rubicon, transparant with red stripe handle buy 2 sizes 0 and 00.

If you can't then try basement of Adelphi shoping center. There are at least 2 shops but I don't know if they are aware of this problem. This pad affects the electronics so I think you can load a roll of film 24 shots black & white to see if exposure is accurate or not before you go for camera surgury.
Assuming the light seals are ok.

Thank you. I was hesitating to try because I didnt have the right tools. Perhaps will try it and thanks for the tip on the tools to use and where to get them.
The light seals seem ok.

You can try Camera Hospital at Sunshine Plaza. They serviced my Electro 35 some years ago.

I think the shops at Adelphi basement can also do it.
