XF 23mm f1.4 R fast prime for X system

Just bought it. Sublime lens.

I've used the X100 before and I must say that it cannot compare with that because the whole package is different -- X100 is just way smaller than the 23mm f/1.4 + camera combination. This lens is as good as the 35mm f/1.4. Definitely value for money.

great stuff Parka.

Does anyone know the price of the XF23mm lens in HK and Tokyo?

Have friends heading there and may pull the trigger if it is significantly cheaper. (About $150-$200)

where'd u get it from. haha fingers are getting itchier by the day

No doubt this is a good lens but just disappointed with the company's marketing strategy to control sale by releasing only limited units and pricing them at pretty much RRP.

Again, I must say its a very good lens but for all its worth, I hope the upcoming Sony FF won't make me sell my XE1 instead before even getting this lens!

Ya i do not understand why they should release limited units when they have sufficient stocks for the market.

Sony FF would definately be double to triple the price of X-E2. Lets just hope that with Lens Modulation Optimizer, X-Trans CMOS II sensor and other technologies, the X-E2 will be able to produce close performance as the FF sensor for its dynamic range and low light shots. Hopefully but unlikley it'll be organic sensor instead of x-trans CMOSII sensor.

That s quite steep. . Sigma Lens 35mm is less than 1k......
Still wondering should I ditch my 35mm fire this. ....

If I am using FF with sigma 35mm dg lens plus I do not mind the size and the combined weight, I will definitely stay put with it. XF23mm is a excellence sharp lens for mirrorless Apsc sensor camera.

However if I am

In terms of price can't compare with the siggie la. if you wanna compare do it with the 35L or the nikkor equivalent.

You cant really compare a ff lens with apsc lens also..
To each his own i guess

Oh, why not we compare the weight instead? 665g vs 300g. That's not including the camera. Price oftentimes is just a number that has no meaning.

any picture of this lens mounted on an XE-1? How's the handling?
The fuji showroom has this mounted on an XM-1, and makes the whole set-up unbalanced IMHO.

I'm almost ready to get the 35mm but this focal length would be more useful for me. I'm not a big fan of it's size though.
