Xf 18-55mm review

It will be a perfect lens if it is a fast prime with the same linear motor and OIS....

Anyway, the 35mm F1.4 is still my favourite, and really happy with it even if it does not have the OIS and silent AF. Every shots taken are just so nice.

Back to the kit zoom. Day shots are great and almost every shots are accurate and spot on. Not so true for night shots though, as compared to my 35mm prime. I get more accurate and sharper shots with 35mm prime than my kit zoom for night shots.

Anyway, they serve different purpose. Quite satisfied after testing the kit zoom for a day, and it is now with my close buddy. Good lens for general purpose and traveling, not really for me currently as really can't get my 35mm out of the camera.

I tested it tonight .. the OIS works well .. even down to 1/8 or 1/4 second .. Can't imagine life without it .. It would be wonderful to have a fast prime with OIS ..

won't it be cheaper to get the zoom lens after the heat cools down? Currently local price is still on the high side due to new release and low stock level. Soon the lens will drop to $800 thereabout.

Perhaps there are some who require the lens urgently? Maybe some have sold of their existing gear to make room and free up funds in anticipation of the lens, only to be put off by the price and delay?

No rush.... this zoom is a good lens for travel but if you already have the 35mm and asking for the best IQ with no need for zoom, you can give this zoom lens a miss.

When the 23mm and the ultra wide angle is released, the price of the zoom will drop nicely below $800 for used set, and perhaps brand new one.

D 23mm should b quite interesting. Question is d IQ n sharpness. It'll b amazing if Fuji continues d legacy of making awesome fast aperture prime lens.

Just saw a few kit zoom lens on BNS... price is coming down nicely and if you are keen to get 1 to try out, mai tu liao!

Think once the shortage is over, the prime should fall nicely below $800? Just like the original price of 35mm which was at $899, and now it is available below $799.

Sold mine as well since still prefers the 35mm prime. Nothing beats a prime, especially the superb 35mm F1.4!

Used the zoom lens for 1-day and sold it. It is indeed better made than most of the kit zoom of Sony, Canon, etc. But having used the 35mm prime, I am spoilt by the sharpness and IQ of the 35mm prime, and thus the zoom lens is not for me.

Hopefully the 23mm prime will arrive soon!

Correct. Just that the listed price for 18mm, 35mm is $899 and 60mm is $999 for the SRP (Courts, Harvey Norman, etc.)

The usual stores at Funan are selling at a hundred dollar below the standard SRP price, with my favourite store selling at $759 for 35mm and $751 for 18mm.
