I pretty much have decided to get the x-t1 and trying to make my mind up whether to go with primes only or the zooms (Rico posted already some shots with 10-24mm on FLickr and they look promising).
I know my following questions is dealt with on the internet quite a lot but still I struggle and appreciate your view as the SG conditions with a lot of sun may speak a different language.
I'm unsure about the 23mm lens or to go with x100/s. If it would be the x100/s it also would be probably the one I would carry whole day with me, the x-t1 with 23mm is not really convenient to just throw in your office bag.
Anyone had same decision or using 2 cams ? , btw had no fuji so far so it's a system switch![]()
The output from both is significantly different... I am sure you have seen a lot of pictures from both and you will also notice that the X100s horribly soft wide open and needs to be stopped up to f4.0 before you start seeing good sharpness.
Note that f4.0 is equiv to a depth of field f6.0 full frame which is hell a lot of depth. This is fine if you like to stop up but if you like to shoot to achieve a shallow depth of field, you gonna be disappointed.
The XF 23mm f1.4 is a stunning performer with much better sharpness across the frame even at f1.4.
Your choice is determined on how much of a compact shooter is required. I chose the XF 23mm f1.4 as a result of seeking better image quality and probably just stick to the X-E1 even.
If size is a concern - the XF27mmm is an amazing performer... Centre sharpness wide open can blow you away but the corners suffer until like f8.0? I loved that lens but sold away as at 40mm FOV, I feel it frames more like a 50 than a 35.
