X-T1 with 18-55mm or OMD EM5 MK 2 with 12-40mm pro

Hahaha ... money is earned for spending ... :bsmilie:

don't save too much ... :nono: :nono: :bsmilie:

On a serious note, my personal opinion is that no need to get the 16-55mmm because it doesn't have OIS and also it is big and heavy. I was also thinkering about whether to get his lens or the 18-55 kit. I think go for the 18-55 kit and then buy the MUST HAVE legendary lens 56mm F1.2 is better !!

Tried the 56mm F1.2 and 90mm F2. Both are

cheers

The 18-55 is an impressive kit lens judging from the photos I have seen online and I have been looking for a good copy since, but on the other hand the 16-55 is optically better if you can look past the weight, it's like having a group of primes in a package.

That's what I like about Fuji lens, there's a use for every situation.

Btw bro, just curious, why did u sell your 18-55?

Hi bro,

The 18-55 is an excellent lens, personally I rather have this lens (compared to 16-55 for reasons stated in my earlier post) and then get the 56mm F1.2, good combination.

I didn't sell the 18-55. I wanted to sell my whole XT-1 plus the 18-55 kit lens.

I wanted to build up 2 systems, initially thought of m4/3 and APS-C. Then I changed my mind and thought might as well go for mirrorless m4/3 and FF DSLR.

As I already have too many m4/3 lens, so doesn't make much sense to go for APS-C and FF DSLR ... so I chose to stay with m4/3 and then build a FF DSLR.

Hence, only logical way, given my circumstances, is to ditch the APS-C (Fuji system)

Cheers

Oh man what a waste... But you have a point.

You are correct too because I think the Fuji has better IQ.

For the bokeh, I did a comparison of:

1) Fuji 56mm F1.2 Vs Olympus 45mm F1.8

and

2) Fuji 90mm F2 vs Olympus 75mm F1.8

Though the effective focal length slightly different, I used my legs to walk to get the same framing.

From my test, both at widest/biggest aperture (ie lowest F number), I find that in both instances the Fuji renders the bokeh nicer than the m4/3. Just my personal opinion.

Cheers

Hey bro, if you are selling off the fuji system, what about your 56mm f1.2 lens? ;p

The 18-55 is really sufficient unless you need it fast, I will normally suggest go try out.

For me my usual is xt1 with vg and 27mm pancake.

Higher profile is with 50-140.

If I need wide will be 18-55.

I am looking forward to 56 1.2 but I rather wait for 33 f1.

My next item is flash and heading to collect it soon.

Whaa expensive .... I can only afford 1 simple system.

Sorry bro, I don't have a 56mm F1.2.

My test on the 56mm F1.2 and 90mm F2, I went to Fuji Funan at 4th level and borrow the lens from them under Fuji Loan Program

Wide go for the 10-24

got 33mm F1 meh ?

Which flash you are buying ?

Yoz,

Yeah, I do thought of the wide 10-24 but I don't need it. the 18mm is more than enough for me. I don't print $$ and recently camera took my bank digits backwards quite a bit.

The 33MM F1 is rumored to be next year, is supposed to be the arty farty lens of the legendary 50MM (for 35mm). Pricing wise, I suspect should be pretty bad ass.

I getting the Nissin i40 as a starter. Was trying to shoot in low light but the screw up lighting and high black ceiling made everything tough thus decided to get 1 to compensate. LOL

No need complex system LOL.

Bro, just bite the bullet, eat in Hawkers centre can liao ... :bsmilie::bsmilie:

Nah, I went into DSLR system long ago.

The colour profile and time consuming to edit colours was the reason why I left them and go with a simple PNS system. heh.

Plus, I do enjoy food good and I got other hobbies thus the idea for 2 systems is no go.

Currently in my poor 20 liters dry box has 2 systems.

M4/3 and my APS-C.

Already out of space. LOL.

Bro, you are better than me, at least you have enough digits in the bank account to move backwards ... :bsmilie::bsmilie:

OIC ... I think I agree with you on the pricing, fuji's lens was never cheap ...

Hahaha ... ok

Don't have a lot to count back, now thinking back it is making me cry!

I would say the Fuji lens are quite decently priced. I feel m4/3 more expensive!

Hahaha ... better to be a pro like you giving others the impression that you're not a pro rather than someone who is not a pro thinking they are a pro ... :bsmilie: :bsmilie:
