So does the X-Pro 1 already support shutter release without attached lens?

Here's my first impression.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 First Impressions | Daisuki Photo

Today, I took it out for some casual shooting.

I prefer shooting with EVF than OVF. The AF speed for OVF is like 1 second from shutter press to green AF box.

18mm, f/2, 1/2400s

nice review parka! though unlike you, i find the weight just right with both 35mm and 60mm. definitely lighter than i expected. af is a bit noisy and slow but i can live with it as i got used to the x100

Good observation by Parka - the AF using OVF is indeed slower than using EVF/LCD. Somehow i prefer Fuji's EVF over NEX-7's.

not as solid as i hope it should be, tad light n plasticky
egronomics, not as good, any thumbs up available?

what did you find plasticky about the camera? i thought build quality is superb, high quality finishing, tight controls, etc. feels rugged and i didn't get a cheap feeling when handling the cam. same goes for the lenses, the 35mm and 60mm really felt solid and even the hoods (metal one on the 60mm) are a tight fit

Why "performance-wise"? Does that make sense? ;-) No, I meant in general. Thanks for the screen shot! Too bad the X-Pro 1 won't see any peaking. Hopefully with the X-Pro 2! :-)
apologies, allow me to translate...

"performance-wise... ??" = "in terms of performance... I don't know"... still not the queen's english, but you get the picture.

I know what you mean but what performance are you referring to in manual focus mode?

dude, you asked if the X-Pro 1 supported shutter release without attached lens... I showed you a pic of the availability of "shoot without lens" option... but "performance-wise... ??"... meaning, I don't know how this camera will perform using this mode.

this maybe because the adaptors are not available yet... although, I may be corrected by some ppl spotting some "made in china" options...

btw, manual mode focusing can be done with the xf lenses.

indeed. kipon adapters are already out on ebay.

quick question on the MF with the xf lenses - is the mf responsive? x100's MF is sadly, not usable in the slightest. Was pretty amped on the release of this camera, but with no reported peaking or MF assist features and its pretty high price tag.... sigh... probably giving it a pass until prices drops.

As I already hinted there is no such thing as "performance" with regards to such an adapter so I simply asked what you mean.

well, i'm glade that you have come to the conclusion that i was referring to the camera's capability and performance to shoot without lens...

and since you brought it up, in terms adaptors, assuming you're taking about the ones without contacts, you may want to consider material, fit, and calibration... while most of the issues are not "performance" related, but note that not all adaptors made will allow you to focus to infinity.

Show me an adapter for the X-Pro 1 that won't allow focus to infinity. This isn't a SLR.
