nope

I try on my WinXP pro is ok w/o the notebook hdd..
it will detect as 4 removetable drive
one of it for the hdd - not install
one for CF - tested read / write ok
one for mmc/sd - not tested
and the last one for sm - not tested
transfer rate for cf is as fast as my oem CF- card reader..
works good..

yes, the HDD drive is blinking..as I nv install any hdd in it
and after you connect the usb cable , the error led will went off.

I just bought a IBM 40GN (30GB) at $195.00. The place that I got is Storage Solution Singapore located at the 4th level of SLS (very near to the cafe).

The price of the IBM MD 1GB is $374.00 and the 340MB is $147.00.

Btw, did ask the staff to format the harddisk for me and they did. In fact, in the process of formatting the hdd, he had accidentally formatted his drive as well (from what I heard that the drive contains the inventory of the shop!). I was, of course a little embarassed. :embrass:

Also, from what I gather the shop is opened by a Japanese. Saw 2 Japanese there working very hard.

Hmmm heard from the Japanese guy at the shop. they got a new memory cards to HDD casing that they imported from japan. COmes with LCD, With lots of information. But its in japanese. Too bad.... selling for $300++++ and its USB 2 also. Those who under5tan japanese can use it lor.
