Selling my beloved telephoto lens: Pentax SMC FA* 300mm F4.5 ED IF Lens . It is one of the best telephoto lenses ever made. It is sharp, light weight, and very solid made, great for shooting sports or birds. I've had several copies of F/FA*300/4.5 lenses, and the one I'm selling here is the sharpest (wide open) ever.
The lens is in used condition w/ some scratches on the barrel (see photo 3 below). Glass is as good as new w/ no defect at all. Overall the lens is still in great shape. The lens works as good as new too. It comes with original Pentax hood, front and rear caps, and lens pouch.
I know some of you guys are looking at the DA*300/4, but the FA version is quite abit smaller and lighter, only takes 67mm filter (the DA*300/4 takes 77mm filter). And to be honest, I do think the FA version looks better, and was built better too. If I were choosing between the FA*300/4.5 and DA*300/4, I'd go w/ the FA300/4.5.
I'm looking at $1500 only for the lens. Much cheaper than the DA*300/4 while optically it's probably as good or even better than the DA*300/4 (some review says the DA*300/4 is a bit soft wide open, and AF is pretty slow too).
