mageditor, what should we do next? I definitely hope this time round, the MO will be successful.

I have thought out a list, everybody that is interested in the MO, please feel free to add or modify the list to improve on it.

Get more buyers
Decide on W5 colour/MS model for each buyer, consolidate MO list
Hunt around for a shop that offers the best price
Check out on the exact date for the next promo
Decide on a date to meet up/pay up/get the camera

Already emailed CP, AP, MS Color, supposely 3 of the shops in Singapore that offers the lowest price. But still the price ain't attractive enough.

Do you think Sony will allow Mass Purchase at PC Show? Don't think so unless its 1 person buy all, the rest hide ;p

I think we can meet at the PC Show. Most likely going down Sat morning. I think we 5 or 6 can buy on the spot. Can bargain. Tried bargaining durint the IT Show in Mar. Was quoted $580! by Hai something in SLS. Yucky shop representing Sony during the show.

I don't mind hiding if it can give me a better deal.

Anyway, whether it is possible to get a better deal than what is advertised during the PC show depends on which retailer Sony uses.

Normally the bigger retailers(eg Harvey Norman in SITEX) does not allow bargaining, but offers additional freebies(1x128MB MS, Mini tripod, 2 more years warranty) on top of Sony's offer(1x256MB MS PRO, Camera Case, 2 Batteries).

On the other hand, smaller retailers(eg Hai Chew in IT Show) does not offer any additional freebies but bargaining is allowed. I did not know about it until after I paid for my purchase, end up lugi about $70.

I think it is not a matter of whether the price is attractive enough or not. The main thing here is, if we can get additional free MS PRO for the same price, why not wait until the next promo? I think $500 nett is quite possible for MO.

Btw last time while searching for W1, an angmoh approached me and told me his story. He got his camera from Fotomage very cheaply. Maybe you guys can consider asking them for a quote, the shop is at Hotel Meridian ground floor.

BTW, cheap for him may not be cheap for us, bcoz he is getting tourist price whereas we are getting local price.

So that shop maybe "chop" him slightly lesser than other "tai lang tiam",that's why he feel that it is cheap. Anyway, jokes aside, I will add the shop into the cosolidated list, thanks for the suggestion.

So cciRRus, are you getting the W5 together with us? Coz I noticed your post said that you cannot wait for next promo. If you read the papers these few days, it seems like they are starting the promo soon. 2 days ago, there was advert by Canon, today advert by Casio.

When I was there, they were not so busy yet, but the salesman attitude really screwed up. Ask about the product features and he just said: "I don't know, you have to ask Canon!"

I just walked away(within 3 minutes at Canon counter) and spent my $ at the Sony counter.

Anyway, no need to say thanks lah, we have to work together in order to make this MO a success wat! BTW, if really need to say thanks, then revenant should be the 1 receiving it. I went to HWZ and saw lots of his postings promoting this thread, including those non W5 threads. Good job, buddy!
