Worst Airshow I have been!

there were queues and it moved pretty fast in the beginning when everything was in order. then the chaos happened when people started to cut queues, jump queues and start to mess up the system. I would say that they were trying to control, but how the f**k are you going to control when people are not listening? I seen several people blasting the officers about the long queues distracting them which allowed some of the people to slip through the barriers. How do you manage to control the crowd when they do not listen.

Hell, there are enough buses to bring everyone back and all they need to do is to listen to instructions and be patient and everything will go smoothly. Kiasuism at its very best I say. I really salute the people who tried to maintain order yesterday. Probably if anyone manages to see the video that some of the plain clothes personnel were taking that day, the blame should be on the people and not on the staff, the ugly side of SG is clearly there.

I agree with u on the ugly side of SG folks but this is a $20 paid event no excuse for the poor planning which leads to the rowdy behaviour, i am sure if its plan well no flies can slip pass the cordon. I personally wasted $20 just watching black knights aerial display on the bus. The field is so big at the boarding area they should have put up a big tentage and just queue there more manageable instead of letting us and those inconsiderate people exercise our 'creativity'. Police and marshals are introduce for a purpose not for show, i don't really see them doing much except stand there with the crowd. If they can't even control an unarm mob how they can control a horde of demonstartors arming with bottles and stones?

last time the airshow was organised by Reeds International in which they've shifted to Hong Kong. this year organiser not that good judging by responses from CSers. did spoke to one of the big guy from Reeds, saying someone locally wanted the big pie so they had to shift :( ................expected anyway.........

guess i'll forgo this year(tomorrow's) show.

so it's about the money thing... am not surprise.

IMHO... If everyone is in order and listens to instruction, there isn't a need for police and marshalls in the first place... They are there for a purpose...

Just came back from the airshow. today last day, nothing to see. The counters in the indoor exhibit were almost empty, A380 didn't allow ppl to go in (not sure if it happened in the first place), and started to drizzle at around 4 plus.

Shot pictures of the Apache, and some military vehicles and I was already queueing up to go home. First time and definitely also the last time for me.

I was there for about 45 mins waiting to head out. From the ppl before me, the queues was there, then ppl started to move around to better queues (or cutting queues), once that happened, KS behavior started. Soon after, the place became a mess. Witnessed several uncles with families arguing with the marshals, with that kind of distraction, some ppl are bound to take the chance to slip on the bus. When that happened the uncles started blaming the marshals for letting them on. Oh planning was made alright, the people just didnt want to be civilized. It was more like an Indian or Chinese train station during festive periods.

Going in was a breeze. I just dont see why people can be orderly when they entered and disorderly when exiting.

quite true. but true story is even longer........ sorry cannot reveal anything.

The priority of the Airshow is no longer about the public. The public component is merely a sideshow.

Went there during the trade days, and it was smooth sailing. My only gripe was the lack of variety in terms of military hardware, but the IAI, Rafael and Elbit booths were much better this time around.

OK, just got back this afternoon. Was suppose to stay the whole day, but sianz already. Too many people, very hard to move. Inside the hall pack, static display pack, everywhere pack!

I left at about three, hopping it's easier to catch a ride home. Boy, was I mistaken. The queue for the bus started from the ST Engineering display, i.e inside the hall! The normal taxi queue was from the carpark, near the registration counter. The shortest was the limo taxi queue. I took this line and still needed about 20 mins to reach the front. However, about half of that time was taken up when the road was closed for the towing of a few aircraft. Anyway, what made my day was when a q-jumper kena f*** by an old man in the queue. Some more very loud! Surprisingly, our boys in blue just stand around like noting happening. A bit disappointed with them.

Hope the organisers and the govt hear the feedback and improve. With the F1 and various youth Olympics round the corner, can't afford to screw up. Too much international attention.

No more Air-show for me. Worst of the lot.

I was on my way to Pasir ris interchange when my friend called and say the queue is 2 rounds. I quickly got off my bus and hail a cab. The driver didnt even charge me the surcharge so I paid only $9.60.

The queue to get in was chaotic. There was no clear queue lines and all depends on "heng suay" on which line you queue. And they didnt even bother to check the tickets.

The sky today was a plain white sheet. Cant even really see the planes and smoke, let alone shooting. I left after the Black knights display and get some Air-con cooling inside.

The static display area is also chaotic. We manage to get inside the boundary and climb into planes to shoot. Many others also did the same. The marshall and police dont even bother.

When its time to go home, the bus ride was hell. I was on the front of the queue and yet cant get a seat for my sleeping son. The chao ah beng police let everyone from the sides to board the bus but stop me when I move forward.

I had to stand all the way to pasir ris and the SBS uncle driver is unqualified to be a driver at all. Bus Jerks all the way from CEC to Pasir ris. A-con not working or undersize. I was wet to the undies when I reach pasir ris.

The organizer CMI. Praying hard this bunch of monkeys will not handle the Youth olympic or the F1 else it will be the 1st and last for Sg.

Wah! I feel for you, Bro. :(

the fact is, who cares about us ordinary citizens ? everywhere crowded, queues and in this hot and humid climate, tempers sure fly  ...

anyways, the airshow is all about money...

Thanks for the links, Bro.

i had a fren went to shoot sunrise as early as 5:30am, eat his home-made breakfast and slowly walked to airshow venue.

we are facing so much problem with juz 4.5 million population now.
cant imaging when we reach 6 million.

i may have to think of something for my family.

Must be all about $$$ :sticktong Thanks for all the sharing here, I change my mind about going there too. F1 is just going to create more inconveniences to the people, Youth Olympic will not be such a big problem as Sports other that Football ( not S league please) does not really create any big interest here, especially when you have to pay to see someone that you do not know competing.

hmmm, i went there at 930am, saw a super long crowd at parsiris, so back track and went to expo, and crowd was like 50 people ??..... haiz , "free" so crowded, $5 can save you hours ..... but people rather go for free "kiasu" i guess .. reached at 11am ..

going back was horrible.... in the end i walked back.... lucky managed to hitch a ride on a bus from a nice uncle.... today colleague said i very tann ... wahha so tiring .... hot and crowded.

I kept reading about 'free shuttle'. Free? it is part of your ticket price. ;p

next airshow i will still go BUT i will not pay the ticket price i will take a bus alight somewhere near and stay at the beach area to take pics rather then be stuck in the 'exodus' and see the same old static display year after year.

mi... only if I can get a trade pass. ;)

I should have applied leave and use a trade pass. (I can get one easily) but thinking back, its not worth to waste a day's leave too.

Next year, I will just pass.
