Nice sunset but if can increase the exposure to make it brighter will be better.

Did you return to Woodlands Waterfront to re-shoot ?

Thank you for visiting. :)

SilverPine,
Sorry for coming by your thread late.. Good Series of WW shots.. like 2,3,4,5,10.. the use of a foreground object for prespective/framing/etc is a good technique.. which you know and have applied.. As mentioned, I was just stupid when I went to WW, should not have spend time on Bridge but walk on the rocks, then I can get some shots like yours.

Like #19 a lot, I like to mood, wonder if you can get a little more constrast from your picture? to separate the people from the johore shoreline?.. crop off the person (already crop at waist) on the left as well.. maybe crop till the ship is removed? What do you think?

#22 is also :thumbsup:, kind of shot where you must be there a few times to catch just one picture with the right cloud formation and lighting.

As I have said in my earlier post (on another thread), you are a Photographer with experience, you can tell what is good or bad.. my comments not necessary useful, as I'm still learning as well. How to catch you at one of those outings in the future..

GREAT series...

Thank you again for your sincere comments, and were very creative.

For pic#19 to me too contrast for sunset photo is not nature (which I had made some adjustment of contrast to the max. to what I can accept) but your suggestion of the cropping the photo, nice.

Due to my current work schedule, in the next few months I will had to miss the sunset photo session that include the taking sunset photo at Woodlands Waterfront. :(

I took many landscape photo, but most of them do not turn out nice weather was one of the reason.

Photography is like making cheese.
It takes a hell of a lot of milk to make a small amount of cheese
just like it takes a hell of a lot of photos to get a good one.

It was since 3 month ago that I heard from you, thank you for sharing the photo here.

Some suggestion to the sunset photo, most of the people think that horizontal sunset photo is more acceptable, and if possible try to use the GND filter that will help to bring out some details from the ground/sea. Looking forward to more of your posting at CS. :)

.

thanks for the advice. i actually have a few horizontal orientation photos, but i felt that the clouds were too dramatic to loose in the horizontal photos. wanted to try something different than the usual horizontal landscape photos. but here you go.

as for the ND pictures, maybe i'll try to use ND filter in LR for the time being. haha. no money to get filters now. ;)

Your photo posted here look soft, do you resize and sharpen the photo at the same time? When you PP the sunset photo, try to adjust the saturation and contrast it will help to make the photo look more outstanding. :)

.

hydroburn249, allow me to PP and repost your photo below:

Hope you like the PP, the photo composition is nice with outstanding color of sunset and cloud formation. This is the photo I would like to frame it up hang at my living room wall. :)

your PP version is definitely better. needed some contrast and dodge and burn? i couldnt tweak try as i might to get the colors to pop.

Thank you for your kind word, there is no secret, I was using Adobe Photoshop Elements. During PP, I just increase contrast, saturation and add some blue to the photo that all. There is no dodge and burn. Your photo is a beauty, what is required just a little makeup that all. :)

Hope the map will help.

If you are travel by car from SLE keep to your right when link to north bound BKE, take the 2nd exit (before the Woodlands Customs). Please check the map before you start.
