I bought the Home Premium upgrade version for my 2+ years old laptop (from Vista Home Premium) yesterday and comes with free Linksys Wireless-N home router (worth $80) and a Windows 7 t-shirt.

Paid $209 for Challenger member price, original's $219. The full version for home premium retails at $359.

I believe the pricelist can be download from hwz. Most prob the price is fixed. :)

vista...if u like constant prompting and u like to input in info n direction for every single details for ur laptop to even work...sort of makes 1 feel important...i think even win98 is better...

The constant prompting u're referring to is everytime u open a program? Win 7 is the same and u can turn it off via user accounts control.

Done that yesterday, but their DDR3 Memory section confusing. It shows 3Gb and 6Gb columns.

3 & 6 gig ram are meant for motherboard which have 6 slots normally for core i7. You need 3 pcs for motherboard minimum
Mine has 6 slots, 3 already taken up with 2G each making total current RAM at 6G, wanted to know if I fill up the other 3 slots to make it 12G RAM how much is the 2G stick each and then if get 3 sticks how much.

I assume all of you upgrading rams are using Win7 64bit?
May I know whats the pricing? only been seeing local price for 32bit versions.Thks
That's what most websites states, 64bit will fully utilise beyond 4GB RAM.

Yap. :) ..... Try to get the ram similar to what is in your system. So that it won't cause any issue to your system.

Hi.

Can ex-Vista users share your experience with Windows 7? Is it faster now with the new OS?

Hi.

Can't ex-Vista users share your experience with Windows 7? Is it faster now with the new OS?

I am a ex-vista user.:bsmilie:

I simply love it. Faster than vista. :)

no need to think Windows 7... vista gonna be obselete liao..

what u should asking though is XP or Win 7

Definitely windows 7. forget xp it's just way too ancient.

Btw, anyone knows if photoshop cs4 will be compatible on 7? cos i'm thinking of upgrading too but not sure if i should take the plunge now or wait up for a little longer..

perhaps u should tell us the capability of ur laptop first...
btw i heard for netbook...its still better to use xp

Here's a simple decision making process...
Between Win7 & Vista, go for Win7
Between Vista & WinXP, go for WinXP
Between WinXP & Win7, go for Win7...but keep your fingers crossed.

If still cannot decide, then go for Mac...and you'll never bother to ever look at the PC again!
