How about scratch? Ask to pay ==> too much, let it be ==> you don't feel ok.Lend only to someone I trust.
Just like car or bike....you use you bang you pay.![]()
I dun mind lending as long as it's not for a commercial purpose.

Scratch? ;(
Yesterday went to upper piece reservoir, park my bike and go for an hour walk around, when I return to my bike   !!! My seat got torn with 4 holes and the mirror plastic got tiny hole marks of the nails! STUPID MONKEYS!!!!!!!
If you lend your camera to 'monkey', if scratch, you can't say anything but "#@$!*%&!"... . 'Monkey' does not even ask for permission... :bsmilie: .Err...what does this got to do with lending photography gears???:dunno:

Same here, I don't mind lending to photography students or those I can trust the equipment with.
So how do you turn them down nicely without coming off as miserly?
NO relation if you want an answer.
Related if you think in another way is..if you lend something and someone scratch it.
Now, treat that monkeys who took a ride on my bike as the lender...can't expect anything from them.
lend to ppl u trust, u nevr know when your gear breaks down n u need to borrow theirs![]()
If youve spent a tidy amount laying out your camera, lenses and mac set up, will you lend / rent it to your friends for commercial or school projects?
I suppose things like that get pretty tricky. If they borrow it for free, what happens if something happens to your gear?
On the other hand, if they rent it from you, wouldnt that defeat the saying, take up the job only when you have the capability/sources/gear to do it well?
Wondering if anybody here has found himself this position.
