will canon stop producing new apsc dslr soon?

Tink u people are confused by the CR report la. It says canon will come out with an entry level FF. Wat i gather is, it will come out with a crippled 5D, maybe 3D or some other number. But it never says anything about not having crop sensor camera.

FF will always be a high end product simply due to the cost involve in producing the sensor. But low end entry level will always be a cropped sensor. Amateurs or prosumer would never buy an expensive low end FF, tat will definitely burn a hole in your pocket.

@halfmoon:
Basically let me just summarize why FF will never be revived like the film days. Everything has a price to performance ratio peak.
m43 is generally costly due its miniaturization. With respect to performance, it can be considered as "poor" to its cost - (don't misunderstand as me stating that they perform poorly. They are very good systems in retrospect.)
FF is very costly and large by nature. Quality is unrivaled. However, the optimum price to quality ratio is not achieved.
Apsc gives the best ratio of both performance to cost and hence caters to the bulk of the market segment as opposed to the other 2 systems which are more geared towards the extremes. Therefore it will never be replaced by any other system unless the peak shifts to the m43 system (which is more likely then shifting to the FF spectrum)

Technology advances, and cost of production will lower as technology matures.

As FF has been around for a long time, and it should be maturing as Canon technology develop....

M4/3 system suffers from small sensor.. and it means that a bigger sensor is still better, and means 35mm FF is better than APS....

With the Nikon situation in Japan & Thailand, and Sony overall poor performance, it is a good timing for Canon to some out down and pressure the competitions..... and steal a lead when the opposition is down...

Canon Lens IQ have been improving and that means that the IQ will not degrade with poor lens, and all pointing to FF as FF demand a lot of lens...

DPreview tell us why smaller sensor might NOT disappear afterall...

If anything, I thought the new om-d sensor is superior to canon's 18mp aps-c. The current line-up from canon suggests that either canon is totally patent-blocked by the other competitors or simply just being yaya papaya.

With the advancement of m43 sensor, I do not see a point in carrying a APS-C size sensor dslr anymore. IMO,

APS-C and m43 Shld go mirroless and compact.

Entry level dslr can adopt APS-H sensor size.
