I am more convinced on getting the sigma 12-24.. the lens construction and image reproduction is way about what Sigma has done in many years. Also.. the fact it is usable on my film bodies.. and is not a DX lens is another plus point.
Contant aperture is not always a real selling point.. I believe that the 4.5-5.6 is a just a trade off. An example to me is the 24-120 AFS-VR.. its selling point is the VR.. yes even though this lens has no VR.. but with wide angles.. VR is almost not necessary.. just my ranting..
