why so many people are selling 35 cron recently?

Indeed the CV 35 f1.2 v2 is huge and heavy it's also the reason why I got a cron. However, the images from lens is amazing and I love how I can take pictures under crazy low lighting conditions (only 1 candle light as lighting) so I'm keeping the lens as the lens for that purpose

Yeah. At tat kinda wide crazy aperture. It's awesome for low light usage. Then again, I would prefer a cron ASPH or pre ASPH lux for now since it's still within my budget for normal street photography usage. Probably could get d CV 35-1.2 ASPH 2 in future if needed.

I also sold my 35/1.2 long ago just because of its size and weight. images are awesome but handling is a pain. now I only keep some LTM CV lenses for balance of IQ and size/weight on NEX7. some pancakes like 21/4, 25/4, 35/2.5 etc are too small for my hand.

Yeah. I'm using d CV 35-1.7 Ultron ASPH and I must say it's an awesome lens. Even in low light it performs quite well. But d lure of a cron n lux is hard to resist. Haha.

here are my warships for NEX7:

still waiting for the prominent nokton and its helicoid adaptor...;)

CV fan boy. Haha. Kool.

35 Ultron is indeed a nice gem. I got it from ebay and had it serviced by Mr Tay. and i'm quite happy about its performance so far.
only negative thing is the aberration at the object's edge under drastic light change. but this can be avoided by choosing appropriate background.
in low light situation, it rocks!

i will skip the crons, probably get a lux directly if i have enough fund;p

The aberration is in d form of the glow at times when shooting near and in widest aperture on the CV 35-1.7? How much did Mr Tay charged U for servicing the Ultron? I intend to get mine serviced too.. Tks... Pls PM the details if it's not meant for public. Tks.

Btw, D Lux ASPH is really outta my range for now... Will be only getting the Cron ASPH instead... M still thinking abt the nice Titanium Pre ASPH Lux 35 selling d same price as the brand new Cron ASPH 35... Sigh... Dilemma Dilemma...

Here is my share of thoughts on the 35mm lenses I used before.

35mm cron asph - a sharp lens but is overprice. There are many lenses better and cheaper out there.
CV 35mm F1.4 - very good lens but got distortion. Not good to shot straight lines subjects and wide open.
CV 35mm F1.2 v2 - Damn good lens even wide open. Nice color and bokeh. As usual big and heavy.
Zeiss 35mm F2 - good color and 3d effect lens. Good performer.
CV 35mm F1.7 - another very good performer but gets flare easily.
35mm Summaron f2.8 LTM - Extremely good built quality lens with nice color and b&w on Digital and film. But hard to find one in really good condition.

I am currently using the summaron and don't miss the other lenses a bit. For streets photography, I always use f5.6-f11 99% of the time. So f1.2 to F2 may not be too useful for me.

Agree cron ASPH 35 is overpriced. Just like ppl buying vertu even galaxy s3 n iPhones r better than it. How abt summilux? Pre ASPH ones?

The CV 35mm F1.2 v2 is sharper then the pre lux at f1.4 if wide open is important to you. It even has near leica built quality. But a leica pre asph is still a leica. Old lenses must be in really super good condition like mint - to mint is better.

Considering d CV is ASPH 2 version and Pre ASPH Lux is not ASPH per say, CV 35-1.2 ASPH 2 should be sharper than Pre ASPH Lux but the weight & size difference more or less, makes it not a day to day use lens. Moreover, Pre ASPH 35-2.0 Lux is not bad F2.0 and above in terms of sharpness as compared to cron ASPH at the same aperture and @ F2.8, it is definitely on par with cron ASPH in terms of sharpness, and should be good enuff for street shooting...

The only real problem with the really old Leica lenses is that the coatings do not last the test of time.

Err. Can send for re-coat? Haha

You might lose some of the "Leica glow" :) Modern AR coatings are part of the reasons why there's an extreme clinical look on newer Leica lenses.

Also, the formulation of the AR coatings themselves might introduce color cast depending on what wavelength of light they are centered on.

yes, the flare turns blue/purple when shooting opposing strong light, e.g., cloudy sky etc..

for lux, I would prefer a 28 lux than a 35 lux for the cropped NEX-7, but if SONY released FF-NEX on Wednesday, might still consider 35.
also depends on how much bonus I can get next year:D

Sony just launched an RX100 version using FF sensor. Weird!! Y not on a NEX body?

just bought a helicoid for my Nex, MFD for RF lenses can be very frustrating.

I've been on the CV 35/1.4 but lucky I don't have a good eye for distortion. No need to splash on a 35 cron hurhur.
