I wonder how old these photographers are?
I have never been to these shoots before, anyone knows?
The youngest I ever met was a 14-year boy with a DSLR .... think he found the sister (the model ) too old for his liking ....
and the oldest is 75-year with a PnS cam .... we need to wait like a full one, two minutes for him to complete a focus and click.....
btw, he specialises in female models shoot and is always proud to show his last shot images .... he is still around with a photo club and I think we shouldn't blackwash anyone (at any age) for the interest in this subject.
I would say going to cheap, CS organised photoshooting is definately a healthy and despite many accusations from many here, is a fun way to spend one's free time .... it's not as bad as say, going to geylang resorts, horse racing, gambling, computer/arcade games, etc...
There are many other reasons why ppl enjoy such shoots, and everyone has their own reasons. Their reasons may not appeal or be acceptable to some here, but it's their life, and probably this is one way he de-stresses himself from his job or family, etc.
The same goes to these young models .... IMO, the short time they experimented with the modeling time here with us will enrich them for the rest of their life, building up their self- confidence and waking up their social expectations. Give them encouragement instead. The material reward is very subjective .... it's totally a "demand/supply" issue. Personally I dont have much problem with this, as in some occasions I rejected shoots because I was quoted an amount I felt was totally not worth, but also in many occasions, I was being offered to shoot for free, both by the models and friends. From any angle, it's still a very low-cost pastime.
So, let's us not label these ppl, and esp if one has never been to one ....:nono:
