Why is making a spectacle could be so expensive in Singapore?

Thanks. I should have been more specific: the ones without distortion.

Currently most stores are telling me $1,250 based on my degree. Anywhere to do it cheaper?

China via Taobao. Beri beri cheap and workmanship not too bad. The only thing is cannot try the frame and the frame could be imitation. Same same but different. :)

Why is making a spectacle could be so expensive in Singapore?

This is because we don't have the natural resources.

We have to import sands to make the glasses. :)

I just made mine at Owndays
Now they offer 1.74 hi index for the standard price
With the 2nd pair at 50% off it's a pretty good deal

Note: I'm not affiliated to Owndays, just sharing.

Some eye surgeons don't do lasik. They wear glasses.

Good profit!

What is cheap in Singapore?

Laksa is cheap here compared with New York, London, Paris, Rome etc. :)

I was told many of the shops in JB bring in the glasses from Singapore. So it is not the material that Jack up cost.

Many smaller shops are run by the owner. Staff cost is also not high. So, it points to 1 item. Rent! If you work so hard and thr profit is lower than working for someone, the title of being boss is not satisfying. Big chain will survive.
