Why Clubsnap is so quiet now?

FYI, although every moderators has the power to dergistered a member, but we won't use it lightly, unless a member clearly violated the Terms of Use of this forum.
any complains against another members will be brought it to the Admins and Mods team, we take serious view on things being brought up here, some time the discussion lasted for weeks before a final decision being made.

We did kick out many trouble makers, most of them contributed nothing but only troubles.
rashkae no longer active since 2014, but he left on his own, didn't get de-registered.

if you claim than somebody got deregistered because he/she did not get along with one of the mod here, that is just hogwash.

Just to add sometime when I found out there is an outing ... It can be too late .. Like all available allocation are filled up. If these outing post can trigger a email notification that would be good. Not sure if that is possible in this forum platform

you can go the "Gathering and Outing" section and use the "Forum Tool" to subscribe to this section, you will receive email notification when there is new thread or new post being posted.

No worry, I am addressing to an misconception many members have on first part of my post, they believe they will get fried if they said something wrong or dig out some old history in this forum. Scroll up to read the earlier posts you will know why.

the second part of my post is just stating a fact, Rashkae did contributed to this forum, however he became very intolerant towards people who treat this forum like an information counter. Some of our mods did have some words with him on the issue, so he decided to move on.

do remember, many people came here start as a newbie, so everythings look new and exciting, but after some time, when they have grown, they may find here less interesting, some many want to find another place allow them to go further, some may stay around with friends they met here, or guide other newbies. So nobody stays in a place forever, we have to understand and accept this.

anyway, I would not want to say too much about the past,
it is no different from those Ah Lao chia ba eng eng bo ta ci cho keep on telling people how good is the good old days.

the good old days will not come back, we have think how to make today better, and moving forward.

Ironically this thread is probably the most active thread on Clubsnap currently, hahaha! :bsmilie:

I remember back in the day when I was just starting out, I didn't dare to post photos nor pose questions in fear of getting shot down. The community back then was definitely more active, but there were lots of snobbish remarks going around from senior members and certain mods directed towards new members asking what may seem like silly questions. Rashkae especially, was notorious for bashing people in the newbies section - a place dedicated to such questions. I remember getting into a huge flame war with him through PM and was glad that he got deregistered after that.

Still glad we have nice mods like nitewalk, wonglp and zaren though. Some of the others were very uppity and had this aura of 'I-am-better-than-you-so-you-better-respect-me' that I find very off-putting, making them really unapproachable. Like what nitewalk mentioned, certain members had this circlejerking community going around them, where they'll only share things with people they deem worthy. Perhaps it's my angst or what, but it seems that it was only until I won a few awards in photography that I feel that I can find my voice around here.
