Did you have to do this? :bsmilie:

chinesesmokeEPA_450x300.jpg

Nope, I will not do it, as both my wife & I am against smoking. No irresponsible burning of trees or damage to the environment too!

Most of it is sexual in nature, but I would not be sharing it here.... :bsmilie:

To me , if the groom doesn't want to go through such things on the day itself, all he has to do is to voice his concerns during the preparation stage and lay down the rules. If he is not man enough to do so or he chooses to keep quiet for his own reasons, then no amount of discussion here in CS is going to change the fate of the Singaporean groom when it comes to the antics of the jiemis :)

Easier to complain here than to stand up as a mand r be called "stick-in-the-mud" or "stingy"

by friends.....:bsmilie:

marry foreigner who have different culture lo. best fly to that foreign country. send the invitation cards but not air tix! hehee....

Next time any CS brothers here have wedding, we can call you to be the "gate tong-er", since you enjoy the gate games that much and consider it real fun :)

HEHEHEHE

Sigh.... Everyone who is about to get married always think about this issue about being made to lose face on their wedding day.

Its a special day for the couple. Its all part of the fun to make it more memorable for the couple, especially since the sisters (all unmarried) want to have well wishes for their sister who is getting married and proceed on with a new chapter in their life.

Why take it all so harsh? Its a good day after all.

If the couple is not someone they care about, then they wouldn't even bother to make the effort to plan and carry out such activites, and then be labelled "childish"!

If you are the groom and you want to be so serious on your wedding day. Just tell them off ahead of time you don't want all this nonsense!

Relax and enjoy the fun. Surprise the sisters and everyone around you that you are serious enough about your wife to go through all obstacles for her, that your wife is right to choose you as her husband and that you are a cool guy.

Nothing sours a wedding than to have a guy with a black face at the door demanding to be let in to collect his "prize" - opps sorry, bride. What would your future parents think? (I take my parents-in-law like my own.)

Make it memorable and have fun!

At my wedding, I didn't mind being made fun of. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and so did we....:bsmilie:

So will you come to the groom's house in a sedan chair so we've some photo opportunities?

chinese_wedding340.jpg
You high ah?! Lol... Maybe you should organise a shoot with such setting/theme.. ;)

Ditto. The bride is the key person in this. She just has to lay down the rules very clearly to her jiemeis. No funny concoctions. No humiliating stunts. I believe most will respect their wishes. If she just "Oh ok anything. Up to you girls lor", then too bad :dunno:
I have brides(usually cousins) who ask the jiemeis to sabo their hubby or get more $$ for ang bao!

from what i have seen at weddings so far...

mastermind - bride
1) she wants to torture the husband before marriage to show that he have to suffer to get her. Mostly ego trips. :thumbsd:
2) she allows her bridesmaids to torture groom for big ang bao packet to share among the 'sisters'

mastermind - the sisters
1) they want more money
2) they just enjoy torturing the groom, one of the rare chances to really humiliate a guy
3) they pressurize the bride to allow them to play such games (bride says ok...tats bad news for the groom, and usually they will try to punish the photographer/videographer if he's a friend of the groom as well. Tsk tsk...bad. They got a job to do.)

i think they should do away with the food tortures (bad for health), and greed for big $ ang baos (unless the groom is like rich fellow....how to ask a poor fellow to give a $8888 ang bao. Siao ah). Like many before as said, just don't entertain the childish torturers. :bsmilie:

Not anymore. After that incident, my wife banned me from such activities....:) unless the CS brothers willing to give me 5000% of what he eventually give to the jiemeis (SGD or GBP only converted to the nearest hundred) .:bsmilie:

Just take it in the right spirit. It makes the wedding day memorable. up to now, my buddy and wife still remembers what I did!

5000%? Sure thing. I intend to only give 1 cent to them, so $50 for you can?

Alamak.... rules are made to be broken one lah... You can set all the rules you want... but then at the endof the day, it up to people weather to follow them a not..... IMO, best strategy.... sabo them back.... they get their fun, you get your fun.... :bsmilie:

on the bright side, you will get to try on a lot of different underwear :bsmilie:

and get paid doing it, if your arrangement works out.

There wont even be a dinner, where to have table? Lol

What are the bride and groom going to do for the evening?

They can't retire at 7pm and lock themselves in the bedroom unless they have a mission.

Or a photography project if the groom is Edison. :bsmilie:

Sure, provided you can get in with 1 cent....;)

Still ultimately subjected to approval by home affairs ministry. :bsmilie:

*Poooofffff*
Off to Europe! Lol... My Grandma ask me to save the money for all the nonsense and go tour Europe for a month. ;p
But but but.... The thing is... There is no groom yet :)

To be the Groom's brother.

You have to wake up really early to go his house.

Brothers have to drive their own car on their own expenses, who say can rebate?

Reach Bride's house, all brothers have to withstand the '99 combo hit' from the sisters, which those girls think is really awesome fun. (no offence to the ladies :p)

Poor brothers have to wear bras or drink cup of proclaim 'caffeine' to kick your day off before you can step into the house.

Then there is always this certificate that the groom have to sign, one of the sentence always wrote: "Your money is my money, my money is my money". -_-''

After mission accomplished, you can then go fetch the bride with honour and glory.

These are some of what i have see as being brother for few of my good friends. :bsmilie:

Huh? Such a pretty girl, can't be no suitors, right? No one caught your fancy yet?

You still need ROM or church wedding, so will still need to go through the wedding day, unless you plan to elope and don't let people know. :bsmilie:
