No spec leaked yet, you still can keep up your hope. But I think it's quite highly unlikely for Sony to make a low-res FF sensor. New sensor = new RnD cost, it doesnt make much sense for them to go for lower-res. Remember even at 24mp, the pixel density is merely the same as 12mp aps-c. If the A850 is to be FF (which is again, highly unlikely), it'll use current A900 sensor.

It will. It's not as simple as just increasing pixel size. You still need all the R&D, you need to re-map all the data paths, you need to re-design the microlenses, you need to re-tune the bionz processors, you need to run test wafer batches, etc.

It will cost the Sony sensor department a lot of money, and then they'd sell it to Nikon too anyways.

Thanks for your replies. I'll probably go hunt around and check out the prices. I thought I saw some guy in this forum mentioned that he got A700 for a real knock down price, somewhere around $1300+ due to end production. Not too sure, how true is that, will go Sim Lim to check it out. Will keep you guys posted.
