Shoot! That's more venomous than a pit viper! I'm still trying to imagine how to control my finger pressure against the shutter button so that one does not max out the SD card within mins... :bsmilie: Need to practise finger control that's for sure! Contrary to DSLRs, there are no shutter sounds so you can't gauge how fast you are going...

my main disappointment is the lack of a standard hotshoe to use my existing flashes and CLS

Maybe you can hope for the open market to produce an adaptor to the existing flashes? Technically, how tough would that be - assuming power to the both types of flashes are more or less the same that is... As for CLS...ah well, that's a different breed of creature altogether...

What's so hard to imaging? A CSer is already using NEX with a supabigalong Canon prime (I think) to shoot birds... To me, it's easy to accept... just treat the V1/J1 as a lens cap for the big cannons... :bsmilie:

Agree.
If only Nikon 1 SB-N5 Speedlight supported Nikon CLS, it would be in the top of my shopping list ...

NEX is 1.5x,but V1/J1.....2.7x,if mount a FX lens.only can shoot birds.

How about DX lens.... will it work ?

How about DX lens.... will it work ?

If FX lens would work, I don't see why DX lens won't. Besides, 2.7x will definitely make good use of the sweet spot of the DX lens... the longest focal length in DX range is the 18-200mm VRI/II.... that would translate to AT LEAST 540mm (haven't factor in what the adaptor will bring in yet).. with the 18-105 = 283.5mm, with the 18-135 = 364.5mm, again, not factoring in what extra lengths the lens adaptor would bring in...

With that you can already start shooting birds...

and those with the 105VR micro... ahem... a whopping 283.5mm fill-up-the-frame-without-the-need-to-crop goodness...

until now, I'm still not quite sure how the adaptor will affect the focal range of the Fx/Dx lenses... surely not just 2.7x multiplier right? The adaptor will at least act as an extension tube to say the least. And will VR modes of the lenses be fully utilised or not?

Even on Nikon's site, the specs are not clearly spelled out... meaning this is still a WIP...

2.7x and FX,DX are two different thing. How to combine together?
May be Nikon also don't product any adaptor for them. :what:

there are already pictures all over the net long time ago..

Might consider depending on what adapters on other mounts are available eventually. 2.7x would be interesting to shoot wildlife using other non-nikon telephoto lenses I own currently.

I think Pentax Q 5.5x is more helpfull for your wildlife.

actually I also hope to buy a light weight Nikon mirrorless camera to partner with my D7000 to use my current lens.
But finally come out is stupid 2.7x..........Nikon mirrorless=interestless.:o

That's another consideration but to me having more crop factor need not necessarily mean better. So might want to wait if people tried both out and compare when using other mounts.

Sorry to said that,after I checked,Nikon has a Adapter FT1 for F Mount.Sorry again!

But I am still no interest to convert my wide angle lens to tele by 2.7x. :nono:
