While not everyone is at fault, I still have to disagree... I've once got an 'offer' that was way too low to consider... I told the person so, he reply "There is no harm in trying"...
There are just people who like a good bargain and don't care what you think...
yes lah. such pple exist. as i said, if u feel that they should know better, no need to give face.
but i want to point the finger at sellers also... there are really some pple who dun mind selling at a big loss... can call it "spoil market" or anything u want but it happens. and buyers are tempted to low-ball and try their luck because some sellers are accommodating them by selling at "spoil market" prices. both behaviors feed each other.
i still remember the last "massacre" in one of the buy / sell forum one time - new model on the horizon, many users looking to upgrade, all sell together  to secure prompt sale, some outrageous prices were offered by some sellers. an intelligent buyer seeing this will definitely be trying to buaya the best deal out of the numerous desperate sellers.
so this whole subject of "low balling", while we often blame bad buyers for "chow ka" behavior, sellers have to reflect also... by "spoiling market", they encourage more buyers to try their luck and perpetuate the "low-ball" practice.
but what can anyone say? market forces lor... willing buyer, willing seller...
