i can't be bothered about the dust...since it rarely shows up as i shoot with large apertures. but i guess it would be a real pain if you're into landscapes and stuff

It is really a real pain. ;(;(;( Clone until siaz.

I mostly shoot at f/16 - f/22.

Six years, no dust problem, even with four of those years in a high construction area. ;)

Any dust on sensor will enhance the dust in the high construction area in the photos. :bsmilie:

is that even possible? you never change lens? :bsmilie:

Since my camera equipment in my backpack is stored separately, I always have to attach a lens to shoot. Sometimes, I even remember to remove all the caps so everything fits. :bsmilie:

It's a shame that you must clean the lens, though. Why doesn't the Olympus SSWF clean the lens also?

The SSWF is quite effective, though. A friend got some Nikon body and before he took 20 frames, he needed to blow out the dust. Oops.

When changing lenses, do you hold the opening up?

It's part of the pleasure of digital photography.

That reminds me I need to get a bottle of pure methanol if I want to continue to enjoy the pleasure. :bsmilie:
I too am searching for 100% IPA since my regular "supplier" from Jurong Island seized all "smuggling" activities after accidentally immolating himself in an unfortunate smoking incident.

Anybody knows where I can get a container of it? Preferably in 250 ml or 500 ml.

oh.. olympus. yeah, their dust cleaning system is still the best around huh? :)

i don't really care, unless there is sand flying about the place.

you mean "ceased", not "seized" :bsmilie:

Try any chemist and see.

esp when it is raining. double up as a mug. :bsmilie:

The sensor will boil the water to make sure it's bacteria free. :bsmilie:

No doubt. Considering where I was living, Florida, sand, sawdust, and ash from forest fires were all too common. It might not be a necessity in all environments but there are many chances of contamination.

I think dust on my viewfinder is more painful to see. LOL!

Agreed, i can still live with cloning for a while but after some time I'd just send it in for sensor and general cleaning when i can't stand it any further.

I had that with my D200, the dust actually got between the focus screen and the base of the pentaprism. Had to remove the focus screen to clean out the dust, its a pain but well worth the effort. Better than having to live with the dust everytime i look through the viewfinder.

Using SensorKlear too, works fine for me;)

whenever i get dust on my sensor i do this:

1) USB vacuum cleaner to suck up the dust
2) cotton swabs with kiwi kleen to mop it
3) use a straw to blow it all dry

it works ;)
