You are right, if price is right like <1500, it will be good to get. :bsmilie:[/QUOTE]

I think that eAgles was refering to the AF-S button your 300mm f2.8 lens. :bsmilie:

Are you sure that you have not seen it before? :sticktong
Aiyar..that button doesn't stop motion...it only stops the lens from focusing...

But Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR has that button...hehe

I will be heading to Johor Bahru to get this new baby once it hits the shore. ;p

JB is cheaper than getting over here? By how much? How abt warranty issues?

No lah, that button is to stop the AF temporarily, and not freezing motion. ;p

JB is slightly cheaper only ~ $100 compared to CP, may not worth the effort for you to travel down to get it.

As for me, it's ok because I always go there to makan if I have the time, so might as well as get it from there. It's a Canon International Warranty or Malaysia Warranty. To me it's not a big deal as there is a Canon Service Centre in JB, 20 mins journey at most. I can send it for servicing if I can't service it in Singapore. By the way, what is the probability of this lens failure? Take it easily, just use the lens first, the rest talk later. :)

Yeap, agree with you. L-lens failure quite low. But you will never know lah. I just sent in my 70-200 f2.8IS to correct that lock-up problem. Quite devastated at the moment.

To the experienced ones ...... is it recommended for 350D? Mainly I will be taking photos indoors (2 young kids running around), here and there group photos of family gatherings, love taking landscape photos (buildings, sceneries, the wide plains, the world....etc)

I have the Tamron 18-200mm. Can't complain about the pictures. No lens to compare with yet. But love this all in one type of lens but I have this hand shaking syndrome (a sucker for coffee). Would say 4-5 out of 10 pictures I took will be blurred due to my hand shake. With the IS, I hope to reduce it down say to 1 out of 10 or none at all. 24mm x 1.6 is about 38mm, not so sure will it be wide enough.:dunno:

Would love to hear from you guys. This could be the lens I think I will fall for.

Thanks!

Rgds

Told you people before that you don't expect it to go below S$1,500.

Or you could always spend a quarter/half of the money and get a flash. ;) (I'm presuming you're talking about shooting people indoors/dimly lit areas).

Now to pray for an 18-55 or 18-80 F2.8 USM
