Old roads, appearing in street directory as recently as 2004 shows the existance of Stephen Lee Road and many others branching off from Mandai Road.
Are they still there?
Exploring? I been doing that all the while...from Sg and across the border. As long as my 2 wheels can take it, I do it! On car or by walking, you can't reach that far, unless you got super endurance to walk for hours. For sure, I recee all the places which was mentioned here already. There are still some good stuffs to see near mandai and upp thomson road area. here are 2 simple snapshots taken recently near jurong.

Walk further in Track 22. Got entire abandoned kampongs!
Those houses are at Track 18.

I just went in to hong kah circle recently too. almost got lost. hong kah circle can be link to track 22 and to cck. and if you are aware, not just simply along the road of track 22 actually they are fishing pond inside too.
do check out the old nee soon rd if you like you may be surprised.
