Have you ever seen those divers that dive like seahorse?
Dive like that, how to take photos?

Come to think of it, what do you mean by diving like seahorse? You mean the person stay vertical all the way? How does he move around then? :bsmilie:

To control my buoyancy loh.
U dun use your BC to control buoyancy unless extremely overweighted or diving deep. ;)

Oh..... I think I misread you, cos I thought you mean fully fill the lungs.
I do that only when I want to move up.

my point: use dive computer also doesnt mean you know how to use the table. but of course, it is better to use your own judgement and your own dive comp than to rely on someone else. however i see that as a more advance stage of diving. definitely, good uw photography as well.

i have used a regulator with the mouthpiece bitten off, leaving teeth marks and nothing for me to bite on. the bottom line is, for those who needs to use rental gear, go with trustable operators. i have problems with full foot fins, and now have two scars on my heels. friendlywaters was good enough to arrange for open heel fins for me, and he got me a pair of tusa duno what model , which was very very good, better than my x3 which i got later. i really glide through the waters, easy like breeze. but i had problems removing the fins every ascend, macam like it has grown on me :bsmilie: the one whom i went with the badly devoured reg, they also got me a pair of decent open heel fins la, just to mention to be fair.

For my first leisure dive, I was issued with a leaking regulator and I have to suck like nobody's business ...... having a splitting headache when I surfaced, a small breath and you will see the pressure meter drop from 1700psi down to 0psi then when breathe out, return back to 1700psi again ...... I don't even know I have such powerful breath.... LOL.

beivied, how do you tell a person off underwater? for those squeezing sea cucumbers, why not you squeeze them?.... :D

if squeezin the diver will have the same effect as squeezing a sea cucumber i.e. intestines shoot out in self defense, yes sehsuan i will. but too bad it wont. i wasnt with that diver, dunno if it was a fortunate thing or not, as i didnt have to witness such gross actions, but i cannot tell the diver off immediately. a non dive friend told me one, when that girl (girl some more) came back and told her HEROIC tales in triumph.

i asked my friend for the dive centre name and emailed them. didnt scold them, but asked them if they actually noticed that a few of the divers did such thing. not one, but a few. she squeezed and pointed the shooting intestines at her friends. she dug the seabed to disturb crabs. she held on to a turtle to get a free ride.so i wonder how it went unnoticed or unwarned.

anyway, i will see that girl on thu at my friend's rom celebration. she knows i am a diver. even asked my friend to ask me if i am interested in going for DM with her. to me, she is not fit to be one. she wasnt that interested in diving until she realised the THRILLS she could get. honestly i am disgusted. i really hope she doesnt come and act like very yaya about it. i would probably strangle her there and then. argh. somebody stop me from squeezing her intestines out.

hai. how can anyone behave like that :(

oh ya, i forgot to mention. she was afraid of the puffer fish. she only disturb those defenceless creatures like sea cucumbers. not that puffer fish can do much really. how heroic. hai. paiseh, cant get over it.

then the diver , if the diver is a male will think she is 'ONS-ing' him! :D :bsmilie:

best to show the :nono: signal

maybe you should ask her to kiss a crown of thorns starfish, while she is at it... simething that will 'bite' her back.

diagonally facing upwards. poor trimming and buoyancy.
Also, partially due to inflated jacket-style BC. coz they cannot control their buoyancy properly, they have to inflate their BC

agreed. from what i understand, it's this girl who's killing cucumbers by squeezing their innards out... the DM should be informed immediately and the girl should be pulled out from the dive from touching... wait... KILLING sealife!

one of my DM or DI mentioned that some photographers prefer to put their weights all the way around the upper torso so that they can "point down" when they shoot... is it true?

i always see seahorses when i go diving. not pigmy ones, but human size, haha. how they move around? fin and use hands at the same time lo. has to practice la, and be a bit self conscious at all times until you are so used to it.

i also thought she should be barred from continuing her dives. it is either she went unnoticed (dunno what the instructor was doing) or she just kept quiet about being pulled up and lectured.

you dont have to put your weights on your upper torso. unless you wanna look like a upside down seahorse all the time, or keep inflating your bcd to compensate for the tilt. if you can control your buoyancy well, you can remain in that posture for a bit of time. control your breathing and your body, thats all. less air in the lungs, bend your head towards your chest, keep your legs open (for beginners) and you should find yourself slowly tilting. most importantly, dont inflate your bcd, haha. anybody got better suggestion of doing that?

by the way, i might look like a seahorse myself, but i never noticed, haha. next time take video and see.

oei, how can a squeeze become ONS? :o

she probably wont kiss it la. puffer fish havent bloat up she already scared, how about a ball of thorns. but hor, people got gloves you see, so she touch this touch that and squeeze here squeeze there lo. argh.

normally that is the case when you are "leg heavy", tech divers do that too when they have multiple tank setups. This is so that they can stay trim.

I also have a problem with trim, when I stay still my leg will go down and head will come up. But the overall depth will remain.

A few DI gave suggestions but so far no go. Manage to deal with it with gentle side flipping so far, but looking for better solution. The weights method is one of those I have though of but so far never try. Dropping the belt will be more difficult that way........ Perhaps put ballons on my leg :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

try this "pressing the buoy" technique for swimming as advised by Total Immersion :)

pretend your chest is pressing on a buoy and you want to stay level... so you have to put more weight on your chest since there's more air there...

Er, what is ONS har?

Oxygenated Narcosis Syndrome :bsmilie:

well first of all, the obvious question is what BC are you using? i found that using back flotation BC's are easier for trim, for me at least,

or if you have D-rings on your BC, you can actually hang the weights on your torso...

or ballons.. hee hee

:D
