Just keep it open loh...who knows one day the 24-105 will beat the 24-70? :)

True. It very much depends whether I will get the 5D! :bsmilie:

then yr next thread will be, which will you choose for wedding when I am using 5D? hehe

sure beat!!! :bsmilie: beat or not is in you.. not in the lens
Well said... Whats the big deal of the difference btw 24-70 and 24-105 if the pics come out mediocre?

If it must be a single lens solution, and provided you're bringing a speedlite, the 24-105 f/4 would be a very versatile lens to bring.

At weddings and with a 5D especially, I wouldn't use any aperture wider than f/5.6 most of the time. Shallow DOF effects can be relatively easily achieved in post processing.

If it is me, 24-105mm....

More flexible, more reach, wide enough BUT must have external flash.....

Well, as for me will be EF24-105f4-IS-L(to TS):thumbsup:on FF:heart:

I'm an event shooter who uses the 5D/24-105 for virtually everything. Proper use of the flash will take you a long way, and besides, IS can be put to creative use as well. One stop is not a whole lot of difference, I find. I usually take just one lens to an event because there's no time to switch, and this is my favorite combo.
