super ! wat lens/filter can I know?
I won't be surprised if no filter (other than UV or NC) were used. ;p There aren't many 12mms around, so I guess it's not going to be too hard to guess which lens was used.

its still 1 out of 3... my next lens wud be a WA, so it'll help if its from one of those i'm eyeing..

3D matrix metring II should not be that big of a deal.. I'm one of the old school people who use center weighted and spot more frequently. Learn not to rely too much on technology. ;p However, I have to admit that I am starting to use matrix more often nowadays because Nikon's matrix is really good!!!

D200 without the grip feels quite unbalanced.. So I would use D200 with a grip anyway. Battery life is better on D2-series.
of course, batt life on D2 is better. 100% preferred. :)

3DM II is gd to have.

with the crying.. guess it shud be Nikkor.. was hoping its not this one..

Sigh............

Excuse me......... again.

Taken with a low (someone say lousy or sucks) 4 megapixel with no built in flash camera at Chengde, Beijing.
ISO 200
F16
1/30
12mm
Matrix Metering
and print out in S8R size.

u must say. PP or not. thats where the power lies. :bsmilie:

the D2 series of batteries are good. but if u attach with a wireless. its drains the battery like mad...

I could get almost 1k shots with a single charge of the D2H battery. With minimal preview on the LCD.

Maybe you could have a much better shot if you have a "better" one, and/or more proportion of keepers of this quality. What do you think - make logical sense?

At this point of time, the D200 would more than suffice for all my requirements. So unless I plan to go pro, the D2 would be an overkill.
I'd rather take the difference in cost to invest in some really good prime lenses.

The vote figures indicate that the D200 is the favorite, particularly among non-professional photographers. However, the comments made in the posts show many users preferring a D2H (or D2Hs, I presume). Could this be due to D200 owners who prefer their camera not posting their opinions, maybe because they do not consider the D2H as a practical camera (cost-wise and other) for a non-professional photographer?

While the voting poll remains anonymous, why do we not have D200 owners extolling the wonderful color or detailed images provided by their sensors (and their associated electronic processing) as being a step above the D2H?

The D2H is definitely built as a pro body, with the feel and handling that implies. Do its images surpass those of a D200, or not, in your opinion?

So far, we have no direct comparisons here. :)

If 2 photo of a same scene are posted side by side, can a person tell the difference which camera was it taken with? In this case a D200 and D2H.

Each of the users have their points.

Some WILL want a higher res camera (rooom to crop) which is lighter and gives more options for ISO control.

Some WILL want a lower res camera (smaller files) which has a built in vertical grip and excellent sensor.

But in the end, you YOURSELF is the main person to decide if the camera is GOOD for you or not...

I'm a hobbyist and I want more room in ISO choice and more room for me to crop, thus I'd go for a D200, but if I'm a working professional who's pressed for time and needs a speedy camera, then I'll choose a D2H to work with.

This is a poll with no end in sight as there will just be more and more views on why someone would choose 1 of the camera (WITH their own views in mind)

Only if you blow them up, mebbe you might be able to catch a difference...
I've not seen any comparision yet...

anyone with both to share??

Hi swhyge

Yes, I agree with you and it do make logical sense, but only if I am to print large size photo like A3 size and above.

But my workflow and requirement (just my personal needs only) do not require me to print A3 and above.
All my photos are print in 2 sizes : S8R and 4R size only.
On a 4R or even an S8R, we won't be able to different which quality of photo is taken by a 4 or 10 megapixel camera.

As I have post in the first page, the advantage of D2H would be
1) 4MP is enough for daily usage

2) need/want to shoot a RAW workflow, but don't want 20MB files.
All my shots in my recent China trip are taken in RAW, no JPEG, no FINE JEPG, no BASIC JEPG.
Workflows have been fast and easy without any lagging.

3) Dun need to upgrade your PC

Yes someone please share, very keen to know.

I been very curious to know how a person can ever know what photo is from what camera. All along I only believe we can guess which lens used for a photo is taken but not a camera.

Especially after seeing someone posted this and I believe he was referring to the D2H:
"I have seen alot of great pic coming out frm many reputable lensman and many are from protraiture and wedding photographers.."

Image post in the forum,
or photo print in 4R, 5R, 6R, 8R, S8R, we won't be able to tell the difference.

I think I need to find out more to kill my curiosity...maybe go camera shop and do some shoots using both camera then bring home compare. Best if IT show have them :)

Yup agreed on don't need to upgrade PC and huge MB of files to process.

I agree what zac08 have said.
Each individual have their own need and wants.
Both D200 and D2H have their own strength to meet individual users requirement.

I like my D2Hs very much, but I do agree D200 is very good and attractive too.
The advantage of D200 would be
1) More room for cropping

2) Bright Screen, Larger view finder, value for money

3) More room for ISO plus many more.
