yah ,, So DAMN good , and so fast . NEither will I let go of mine..Everything is powerful in a D series

D2h lesser shutter lag than D200?
D2h faster focusing speed than D200?
D2h colours not as good as D200?

so much diff?

1. yes. very much less.
2. definately faster. the AF module is different
3. as for the colour, i think d2h's colour is more accurate than d200, though my experience with d2x says otherwise.

i think when it comes to a d2h, we're talking about a pro camera and a workhorse. something that can take heavy/rough working condition and will not give up on you. if i were to have another body, it will not be non other than a d2h.

the only setback of it is that it's actually 4.1mp. that's the public opinion, 4.1 mp is enough for what i need.

A workhourse like the F5.
something that wun disappoint you. solid magnesium body

i'm thinking of getting either this or the F5 for my 2nd body.

I second the D2h over the D200 in 2 ways. One, focus speed and accuracy. Two, response time, frame rate and fast mirror return(the ability to see your subject while shooting burst).

Another advantage is the battery life of the D2 bodies over the D200

Once was 'wow' by the D200 body feel & built
But as once comfortable w/ D2H(s) feel
Try the D200 cam again, sort of feel like a toy camera, especially for guys w/ middle-big hands
(No offences to D200 owners)

yah ,, ,try a D200 before .. it was a intial WOW after I took a few shot at iso 1600..
But after that I still feel it arent that fast and snappy as my D2H. Not to mention the buffer..

Once you've feel how a D2 series body perform, the D200 is no match to it. But still, I'm a shoot first, crop later kind of person, so my need for resolution is greater than the speed and handling.. And since the comparison is because D200 and D2H is probably in the same price range, I would still opt for D200. Otherwise, it has to be a D2X.

other than a D2Xs, all other cameras in the world are not fit to be called a camera. They are toys.

After gotten it ,, I learnt to frame it correctly.. sometime , it becomes a do or die pic for me .. So cropping is sometime not for me..
I still remember the 1st day I hand help D2h and the 1st shutter sound that went off in my own room .. Is soo damn loud... I was grinning ear to ear....:bsmilie: after that .. my D100 become a white elephant

Yeah.. That's one of the problem with lower MP count. You have to get it right the first time. More like shooting slides. For me I'm so used to shooting negs that I usually shoot with some allowance for finer cropping during printing. But with a D2-series camera, the viewfinder is so accurate that you will automatically feel confident enough to get it right during shooting. :)

Had been keeping my purchase of the D2H from my wife until she she complaint that how come yr camrea (previously own D70) suddenly sounds so loud/wired (was shooting at multipile fps) and ask me to send for servicing. :sweatsm: :sweatsm:

Back to the poll, I am not a Pro but I would love to have a D200/S3/S5 Pro  as a 2nd body to my D2H.

I chose the cheaper alternative because I am not a pro nor do I have the 5-7k to spend on a D2 body. But because I like to shoot available light... how does the D2 perform at high ISOs compared to the D200? Especially since the D2's native ISO is until 800 only, and beyond that is all "boost".

dun worry... if one can afford the D2 body, he can also get a 200 f2 or 400 f2.8..... iso 800 should be more than enough :bsmilie:

better still, if one can afford the 1dsmkiin, he can also get the 200 f1.8

you mean shoot at 800 without any visible noise? how far the iso can one shoot without visible noise?

I think you got me wrong jacob. :) I am not saying no noise. I am saying low noise.

If properly exposed, I find 1600 still very usable on images from my D200, whilst 1600 on my D70s is unacceptable (to me). Having never had the chance to try a D2 body... So I was just curious if the D2 bodies have even better control since its "Oh! A an expensive pro body!
