I dunno abt 75-300
but my 55-200 kit can take some sharp photos wide open
lighter than the beercan
When u get ur hands on the sony 70-200 or minolta 80-200 f2.8, u'll know what is real sharpness

200 dlrs lens VS 2000 dlr lens
the cost is 1 by 10
but the sharpness is not 1 by 10
the 55-200 is for someone who is on budget
Im just saying the 70-200 and 80-200 are very sharp lenses
U get what u pay for.
I had the 55-200, 75-300 and a 18-250. They are all good lenses and serves their purpose well. But the f2.8s are just on another level.
I still keep the 18-250 as a walkabout lens, but sold off all other similar lens
Agree with u bro, but i personally think that hanging 1.5kg lens on ur neck is a torture
unless u are using a monopod
a 24mm F2.0..... on my LX3![]()
I think most of us do have a walk around lens, some may even have more . So which one do you own.

Hi this is a bit OT hope all seniors here wont flame me. I am very new in Alpha and still learning and reading a lot about A-Mount lenses.... I have read some reviews... but I would like to seek those senior folks here some advice
I currently have 18-250mm lens. This is a real good travel lens good enough for those travels where you wont need to change lenses.
I wanted to have maybe two or 3 lenses for landscape maybe UWA and wide-tele and zoom tele, but I dont know which one to choose from, budget is a concern so CZ lens is off. I also would want some good sharp lens.
Thanks all in advance and apologize for the OT
Hi bro,
since you intend to have 2-3 lenses comprising of UWA, wide-tele zoom and a zoom lens, the 18-250mm may be redundant here. Of course if you do not want to change lenses, it would be a good all-in-one lens.
My recommendation would be Minolta/Sony/Tamron 11-18mm, Sony 16-105mm and the Minolta beercan 70-210mm f4.
