Would Benro have advantage over Manfrotto for its screw tightening legs than clip locking? Find clip locking easier to break.
Like not many mention carbon serier for Benro or Manfrotto, is carbon fibre better beside weight?

If you buy a cheap and crappy tripod which can barely hold your camera and kit lens, then if you buy heavier/longer/better lenses, you may need to upgrade tripod too.
General guideline for stablity, tripod max holding weight must be at least 3times greater than the weight of the equipments (DSLR, lens, flash, etc) used.
If you follow Gitzo's rule:
Series1: up to 135mm lens
Series2: up to 200mm lens
Series3: up to 300mm lens; occ use may be up to 500mm for systematic
Series5: >500mm lens
Gitzo tripod is really good...Carbon 6x, G-lock, ALR system...Newer model only...

#New G lock can absorb shock and handle vibrations very well....
#Anti Leg Rotation System
This is a good invest in a good stable tripod... Gitzo...

Very stable yet cheap Made In Japan legs. Those who went NS and carry GPMG tripod will find the weight quite similar.

How about Gitzo 0541? Based on weight wise, it can be used to hold a 70-200 plus body + grip but is it recommended? Mine is a Nikon D300....
I like 1541T but I already have the Q3 ballhead so not sure whether I can use it in 1541T. Thanks.

The salesperson did shown me the GT1541T with the Q3T. It is very nice for travelling as it can be folded backwards and very handy indeed. However, the only issue is that when fully extended, I have to windup the centre column to reach my height, which I thought would compromise the stability.
Seems like GT1541 is still a better choice.

why manfrotto 055 Xpro for me?
first, aluminium construction.
heavier = more stable.
second, i am not shooting on mobile outdoors, if i am, i don't use tripods... why use tripods when u need to be mobile... paradox...
lastly,
aluminium is not brittle...
sorry, but being mechanical engineering trained, one of the things they don't tell u is that upon impact, carbon fibre... cracks... while aluminium deforms elastically / plastically. so i rather have a deformed one than a cracked one.
but, really, tripod is meant to indoor or low mobility use for me...
why bring a tripod if u need to run around?
bring less, see more. no?
