My personal opinion is, its either one(price) or the other(service). In a perfect world, we would have both. Just my 2 cents:)

If john 3:16 crowded i would slip past and go slr revo and hope that sam doesnt see me. Although he most likely won't be able to since he's most likely busy gossiping when the shop got people(no offence sam):bsmilie::bsmilie:

I still go john 3:16 to play with new toy and get my stuff though;)

Just relate my experience with MS color, make sure you get black and white email quote, they quote lower price thru phone and when you ended up at their shop, the story can be different.

I got my TZ10 red color at $580 from MS Color on 12 June, they quoted $560 thru phone, I confirm with them red color is in stock. When I went down to buy, they told me that the red one is limited quantity cost $20 more, other color is cheaper at $560. I was there with my wife and kids, my wife wanted the red one and not considering to travel again down to Sim Lim to buy at A*** Photo, I just paid and left.

It was the first time that I paid more for a camera due to color difference! I do know that different shop has different price, but what annoyed me was that I called up and was quoted $560, and then was told red color cost $20 more when I went down to the shop! I would not have bought it other than my wife insisted on a red one. If the $560 quote was a ploy to get customer to step into their shop, well they succeeded this time, but never a second time, will not patronise them anymore.

One negative vote for MS!

SLR rev is my fave for now. the service is not pushy and they have consistently the best prices. unfortunately, their range of goods is small.

tk photo has good service too. i was looking for a filter and they didn't to have it but that didn't stop the big brother from searching high and low amongst his cabinets. he was very helpful. the alternate filter he suggested was not what i was looking for so i went to hunt some more. found the filter i wanted at SLR rev and it was reasonably priced too 17 bucks for a hoya uv filter vs 39 bucks at challenger mini for a tokina .

as for AP, service was a little terse so depends on who's serving i guess.

I really like SLR Revo though I always wanted to visit John 3:16 but its always so crowded. :D

Hi, hope I am not off subject here.

There is this camera shop at the first level of the People's Park Complex which has a very very pushy staff member. Long story short, I was looking for a tripod for my camera, and I was sort of interested in one of it. The staff member quoted me a price of $95, and wanted to close the deal on the spot. I said I wanted to look around a little more. That was when his face turned black and started pressuring me to buy. To be honest, before he started his pressuring, I was quite keen on the tripod. However, when he started his nagging, I was turned off completely.

The shop is situated next to a shop selling toys and has a big FUJI logo on it.

Hi Guys, i went searching for a good priced Canon 50D(body only) and most shops offer 1600-1700. Then 1 particular shop in Sim Lim 1st floor, it think its called "V Audio", they offered me $1080 for a 50D and $1090 for a 550D. Thats like 500+ cheaper than the rest.

Could it be real?? Even if theres something wrong, what could it be?? Imitation??? i dont think so rite.... So anyone can help me here?

When you agree to buy, they will tell you "no stock" and then try to sell you something else, usually overpriced.

It is call Bait & Switch, very common tactic.

Hmm...that may be right, im gona go there again and ask to take a look at the piece.. So wat if he does have the item?? what else could it be? Isit possible that he is really selling the 50D for $1080??

Thanks for ur reply ;)

I don't understand why well informed people, those who visit online forums like clubsnap, still can get cheated or believe they can get good deals in sim lim/ lucky plaza. So many examples for all to read, whether it's camera or any electronic stuffs. Then when get cheated or get lousy service, complain in forum, sometimes I feel such people deserved it.

Haha...ok ok i get it....guess i was too excited...Hey thanks alot guys, could have been cheated...

Btw fyi all lords is known as iPhoto. Now

First time dealing with John 3:16 this afternoon. 2 thumbs up for service!

Sam's service is remarkable. He is the only sales person so far to remember his customers' names and to keep all of them entertained even though his shop was swarming with people. I'd say price wise its rather competitive, but he'll try his best to match other shops. But for me, I'd rather pay for Sam's excellent service rather than saving a few dollars.

Cheers!

Everyone says Ray from SLR Service is good, but something happen weird today. I was served by Willy today, but before I know whose Willy(i'm new to this store), Ray served me first and then followed by Willy, after everything's done, I said thank you to Willy first then again to Ray, guess what, Ray just look at me and look at somewhere else. LOL

could somebody tell me where I can buy fuji instax 210 camera?

Ray is a humble nice guy. Easy on him. :)

It is definitely different from superficial brotherly attitude elsewhere. LOL.

You should have tried out SLR Revolution - you get excellent service and price at the same time.

SLR gets my vote as well.
btw, SLR will be relocating to level 4 @ funan in mid sep.
