Is service so important ??? I just step in, buy what i want, pay and walk out. Less than a minute, done.

i voted for cathay as i am a longtime customer of them. Even though i only bought my first DLSR from them some 8 years back (and occasional accessories on and off), the sales guy still remember me and the DSLR i purchased from him. I even go to him sometimes and ask to test some equipment without buying. So, yes, i value such service and friendship and would not mind paying slightly more for it.

Haha... Same here. Think we all know what we want can liao. Give me the best price give me the blackest face I also don't give a hoot! :)

For me, the best stores are SLRR, MS Color and AP.

TK Foto to me quite stuck up.

Cathay Photo very professional until appear cold.

Click so friendly until appear quite fake.

J316 service genuine and tip-top but prices not good.

Parisilk good prices too especially Kevin at Holland V branch. He's the boss.

Nowadays, some consumers don't go for good service only, they want good service + good price + lots of freebies. (AI PEE, AI CHEE, AI TUA LIAP NEE) :D hahaha!

Anyway, I vote for SLRR. Good price, so-so service. I don't expect them to smile and greet. Just serve me with correct info and attitude (and reasonable price), I will mostly buy it.

True..True..i mean alot of tourist go there..and i know the price is jacked up for them..but SIM lim is worse

Went to sim lim to take a walk.
Went to orient photo to survey some price on the items I have on mind to purchase on that day. Price not bad same as funan side. Continue wonder around to 1st level walk in a large camera shop the guy came ask what I want and a big smile, I was thinking Hmp service might be gd, asked for b+w ksm polarizer but they don't have it so they only show me 58mm b+w mrc polarizer.....

Ok. Since they bring it out I just ask for the retail price, the guy went n check n came back n told me is sgd$190, n the bag I was holding is sgd$190 n the small version is 90 ....I was shock....n I stared at his eyes n ask 'r u sure???'......n he say yes he is sure with the innocent face n smile.....

I felt disappointed n put down the bag n told him I got the small version few day ago at Harvey Norman, for 60 n u quote 90. like it n came here to buy the big version. Upstairs sell 90 n u quote me 190. N the filter 190 really??? ....no thanks.

Went up do my purchases n left a happy man :D

Alws survey and walk around funan and peninsular when I need to do my purchase.

Usually get my bags n tripod from tk
Camera n lens n filter from slrr.

Isn't that quite common for most of the shops? I got that from Cathay, Parisilk, etc. too.

Where do I find the list of stores...
E.g tk, slrr, j3:16...

Sorry.. been reading the thread but it doesnt help me if I cant find the place. .

I agreed with Far Far Away that TK quite stuck up... maybe it's just not my day or I approached the wrong person. it was a crowded Sunday and I was there. there was a old fellow in Rolex watch serving a guy buying a dslr.. (afterall he is the only one at the lens counter) I waited for the "break" moment of his conversation with the buyer to ask him price of a lens.. he didn't even look at me and ask me "wait".. I gong gong waited 5min without seeing him flipping his price book to help me check on my enquiry, while he is indeed flipping the price book to check on the dslr and it's lens for that buyer.. come on.. what is this? It doesn't even take a minute to help me check on my enquiry.. that dslr buyer won't be walking away for that..

I told myself this is the last time I will even step into this shop.. frankly speaking, afterall, they are not the lowest priced shop around.. even if its' lowest price + black face does not appeal to me..

AP always quote without GST
Cathay, TK, Click!, SLRR quote with GST.

Does click quote a different price from their displays? The displays are all RRP

So far my experience with TK quite good.

Last time when I bought my monopod, the guy explained to me until very detail and he even ask me what kind of plate I am using since by default it comes with tilt head which not really usable for my needs so end up didn't buy the head only the monopod

Try to avoid weekend since the place will be very crowded most of the time :)

I personally think it's fair to wait til the sales person has served the other customer before attending to the next.

My peeve would be the under staffing of the shop rather than the wait.

I also feel that it's it fair to finish serving one customer before attending to another. The previous customer arrive first so why should the staff attend to you mid way?

It is Gope's Foto and not Grope Foto.
"Grope" is a verb and is what cheekopeh do with KTV hostesses in dark corners.
